It is odd you mention having a bad day. It did not happen to me but we had a guy at work loose two fingers to a Cat turbo today:eek: so as long as you are in one pice I would say your day isn't so bad.

My Dad did something very similar in a 10 wheeler grain truck hauling gravel for a neighbor. Only thing was the the frame twisted so much the raised bed was on its left side and the front end was twisted about 45 degrees. Glad to hear you are fine. Any damage to the truck or trailer?

Man, is that your truck, or a company truck? Either way, that's going to be hard for someone to deal with. Bummer.

I think your Day was not so bad.
A Dude in Germany did not recognized that his Dump Bed was raising while he was driving on a Highway. Then came the Pedestrian Bridge......
Result:He broke the Bridge in two pieces with his Dump Bed.
You can Imagine what happened with his Truck and Trailer?

Woah, bet that was a scary ride. Glad you are ok. Was there much damage to the truck and trailer?

Espeefan

$20K to put it back on it's wheels, not counting any repairs or body work? I imagine much of the driver's side of the hood, fender, cab, tanks, steps, ect needed to be replaced or buffed out.

It pains me just to look at that picture, but like they always say, it's just a truck, and I'm glad you are okay. Human life cannot be replaced, like a machine.

Frozen loads suck big time!
We've got a regular run of 100-200 tons of washed sand to a ready mix plant 65 miles away, first thing in the morning, start loading a 5:30 am before the sun comes up. We all get a couple of gallon jugs of used antifreeze from barrels in back of the shop and soak down the trailer sides. Lots of times the wet sand dumps out as one big frozen chunk, but it does not hang up on one side or another. Back in the day, we'd pull up to the diesel pump and wash down the insides of the wagon, but that's a big no-no nowadays.

Frame type trailers almost always take the tractor over with them, causing great damage.
Frameless trailers will break off the 5th wheel and leave the tractor sitting on it's wheels. We've had trailers layed over one day, and the tractor is out hauling the next day.

Company I drive for has 35 frameless end dumps, and lays over about 1 a year. When that happens, you may as well clean your stuff out of the truck, as you are terminated immediately. Call a cab or take the bus home...

Hope you've still got a job, bigford!

Yeah!! Good deal!
A step up in trucks, AND you won't have frozen loads.

I spent 4 hours at the Hospital 2-Day getting a Thyroid scan and Ultra-Sound in the Nuclear Medicine department.

Not fun so to get my mind off things I went back to work on my 1/16th Panther. Bent and attached the PE drip guard for the mantlet.
