Yeah, me being an experienced livestock hauler, (lol) that side loaded is going to be pretty unstable, especially if you have any narrow roads to travel, but knowing the freight is pretty flexible whenever I approach an area that I'm not sure the load will fit , I just close my eyes and punch it!! Lol!!!

Nice big area you have, looks good!

I have to agree Reg. I've been impressed by mikes yard since the first video I saw of his trains. Major competition for sure! :)
I might have to quit my day job and focus my attention on the park:rolleyes::cop:

It's the best part of our hobby. all these rc parks on the forum and yet each and everyone of them is different. A great example of how there's no limits to what we can do and build with our RC's. :)

Haha, not showing off at all but you did ask...

Yes you should definitely have a Peterbilt but I think it should be in the garage not the backyard. We got a little over excited with our yard and now it's just a lot of work. That's what happens when you have an excavator and too much spare time.

OK, back to Mikes park!:bounce::bounce:

You tube channel? Link? I'm barely able to figure this photo bucket thing out and only got this far with help from Mario . We had a pond it's gone . I have a friend who has a Peterbilt in his garage 1984 never winter driven . For you southerners that is important as they like to dump salt on the roads here by the kiloton .

Mikem-your work site is looking better everyday. Why don't you put this thread in the construction sites? You clearly have a lot of work into this. I can tell you from experience that an outdoor site is a lot of work. For several years I had a offroad R/C car & truck track in a vacant lot we had behind our house and I would spend 6-8 hours getting it prepared for a race and then it would rain and everything started over again. That was very frustrating but I loved every minute of it and wouldn't change a thing. Your doing a great job!!

Maybe your pictures are too big. I think there used to be a rule on hear that pictures had to be a maximum of 600 X 400. But now that seems to have gone away. On P.b. you can set the size for your pictures. Once you set it they will always be that size. Your lay-out is looking good!!

What exactly did you use? Is it crusher fines or stone dust? Looks like it packed very well and is rc truck friendly for sure.

Mikem
06-01-2015, 04:46 PM
Hi Mario I bought what I call stone dust and put down an inch wet it and pack it with my packer in a previous photo . Then repeat another inch and pack and inches til get where I want to . I also put weed cloth under it all . I have one hill and my KH would always spin or lose traction and I had a brain wave I sprinkled the road with polymeric sand what they use in interlocking stone . Thanks Mike. That's a great idea! I was thinking stone dust, that's what I used underneath some patio stones a few years ago and noticed the stuff packs really well but was concerned about how it would be when dry. So polymeric sand is the trick:cool: Thanks again!

Well the railroad picked up a new piece of equipment on Friday . It came all the way from New Jersey to the capital woods of Ontario from the orange construction co . I'm sure you'll recognize it . Today after a quick check over it got its first job moving a locomotive to winter storage . We had to raise the roads at crossing but we made it with minimal bottom drag . The shop is going to stiffen up a couple joints as the loco 38pounds pushed way down on the float . I'll post a couple other pics . RCP57
11-18-2015, 05:11 PM
I cut the axles near the center and attach a drill. Spin the drill fast and pull. The heat softens the plastic and the axle will come out easy. If I need the axle I just weld them back together.lol

The blue one look sweet but they have too many flaws. In the snow they slide. One slide back over 400 feet in emergency. The cpu on board also limits the diesel, and one of the blue devils as they callem emits as much exhaust fumes as 4 of the yellow ones. So they are horrible in the subways. MTA bought about 35 of them I think. Very eventful weekend though.
