another IHC fan i see

i still have a few of them hanging around let's see
there is a 68 travel-all and a 75 travel-all
a 71 1210 4x4, 75 scout II , 74 scout II, a couple more 1100 pickups
i think that is all of the trucks , sold a bunch before we moved out here

what i wanted to say is your 63 reminded me of my 67 1 ton dump i had .
worked great until i loaned it to friend and he had a flat on the rear,
and called the wrecker well the wrecker driver hooks up from the back still fully overloaded with wet sand,
and about two miles down the road at the first cattle guard it bent in two right behind the cab lol
i sure liked that old truck
i did trade it and an old coin coke machine for a scout

Hi cosset yes there is E&S 1 just in pieces right now . my dad still wants to put it back together but as a tandem as #2 use to be my first tandem till the frame rusted out at the rear spring shackles . so we cut it down to a single and put # 1s box on it I just redid the cab for the 2nd time a few years ago . at the time I had other cabs to take good panels off . end up using 3 cabs to make 1 . Also there is a #4 an S1900 but that got changed a couple times its fate maybe use the frame and motor for #1 . to this day I'd rather drive the fleetstar over the "80s" S model . You could make the cab air ride just take the spring out and mount a pair of air bags for any air ride cab . But I like my 9370 the most ( I can stretch out and drop the seat to the floor and look like I dropped the seat:D)

grumpy, that sad to here about the 67. you will not bend the frame on my 63 ;) I put a 1500 frame under it . I never got to get a scout , they where always out of reach:(

I used to drive a Fleetstar 2070a. It had a 290 Cummins with a 13spd fuller roadranger. It was tandem axel with a 4500 gal bulk tank on it. That was back in 1989. I only drove for them for one summer and then moved on to a better paying job. I have good memories of that old truck though. Kind of wish I could do it again just for a day!

WOW! a blast from the past!
I used to drive a 2110 with a 24 ft. refrigerated box back in 1970, it had a 501 Red Diamond gasser with a 10 spd roadranger. The Red Diamond engines had a split exhaust manifold going into a large weed burner muffler mounted underneath the pass. side frame rail, which failed from wheel spray on the red hot muffler warping it. The company shop replaced the factory muffler with a 2 foot long glass pack muffler on each exhaust manifold pipe. I just LOVED the sound of those pipes rapping off shifting thru the gears! Those 2110's were good riding with their spring suspension cabs, spring Bostrom seats, and they handled well in tight turn maneuvering with their new wider steer axles.

Older trucks in the fleet were R200's with RD 450's and a straight cut gear 5 speed stick (Rockwell?) with 2 spd rear ends - SLOOW shifters! And hard riding...
