I am new to r/c and I am using a Futaba Attack for my Tamiya Aeromax with the MFC01. the standard levers are operating as they should but I can't get any of the trims to work. I have double checked all of my wiring locations and they appear to be as the book shows they should be. any suggestions? thanks for any responses.

you mean that you can't get the MFC specific functions to work - eg. lights? Or with the sticks in neutral the trims don't move the servos at all? Try starting again with a calibration of the MFC as per the manual....

Also check that the 3-position switch on the MFC control unit, next to the on/off switch, is in the middle position. In 'position 1', the MFC is effectively de-activated and the truck behaves as if the MFC isn't installed. In 'position 3', the MFC ignores any RC input and only limited functions can be activated with the round push button switches - like a 'demo' mode for the lights etc. The switch needs to be in the middle position ('position 2') for the MFC to work fully with RC. It's easy for the switch to be moved when you turn the unit on/off....I've often done it....

Marty, I only have reference to old radios and the mfu. But from what I gathered, the MFU really requires all of the mechanical linkages to set pretty perfectly mechanically. Centered and full extents. The mfu uses trim adjustmen's to get to added features like
fit wheel plate (5th function), engine Rev without moving and stuff like that.

Marty,
Be sure you have calibrated the MFU to your radio transmitter. Use the instructions that came with the MFU.
