Here's my collection of 1/16th scale R/C tanks. Most are Tamiya, none are stock :D. All but the Bandai Stug and the SU100 conversion are equipped with the Tamiya battle system.

Nice collection. I've pondered getting into tanks, I couldn't justify how pricey the Tamiya tanks are. But still very nice!!!

Thanks guys!

Just like modifing our semi's adding extra detail is half the fun of the tanks. Though the up front price of a Tamiya tank is a bit pricey, you also have to consider that in addition to the tank, you're getting the DMD and MF control units as well as drive units for turret rotation and main gun elevation and two gear boxes. Also, at the time I got into tanks, Tamiya was the only way to go if you wanted to use the battle system.

Thanks Bodyman!

All the Tamiya ones pictured have the battle system. It works very well! Several of us on this forum used to go down to Danville VA to a large indoor battle site for some VERY intense weekends of battling. The system is IR based, in fact you can set up a programmable TV remote to give the tank a "hit." For "serious" competitors the system had a couple of flaws that gamesman could exploit but for chasing the kids around the house, basement or yard it's hard to beat. Being all Tamiya it's plug and play and very bullet proof.

As for the "Mustang" part, 4-wheel all the way! I've had two, a '68 restomod coupe and my baby was a totally original restored 69 Mach 1, Royal Maroon, blacked out hood, shaker, spoilers and slats, 351, 4spd w/traction lock rearend. I even had the original window sticker.

thanks mustang
i had a 67 mustang 289. lady pulled out in front of me and that was that.
I also had a 69 Mach 1. mine had the 428 CJ. royal maroon, blacked out hood, no shaker.
spoilers, slats, side pipes. was an automatic.
I bought a 2008 GT converible in 08. i ordered it special. took 4 months to get.
i loaded it up with everything but heated seats since i dont drive it in the winter.
vista blue with black interier,5speed,18"alum wheels,spoiler,hood scoop,leather,
1000 watts stereo. in 3 years i have 7000 miles on it. i took it down to the indy show
this past august. when ford came out with the the mustangs that look like the 67 and 68
i had to get one. didnt like them when they went with 4cyl. in the 70's
do you still have the 69? i wish i kept mine.

I wish I still had it! I developed arthritis in my left hip to the point that pushing in the clutch was very painful. Being all original, I couldn't bring myself to convert it to an auto so it was time to part with it. :(

At least I can still play with my Harley!

I'd love to pick up one of the new Mustangs but the board of finance (Wife) says no.

the wife is pretty good on that. lets me buy anthing i want. seeing i work 2 jobs for the last 35yrs. one for bills and one for toys. she did get upset when i got a 5 speed instead of an auto. says she cant drive it then. i said " so whats the problem". she is losing her
sense of humor as shes getting older. the mustang was my midlife crises toy. along
with RC trucks. i wanted a harley, but she put her foot down on that one. she being
a nurse she seen alot of bike patients.
