hi all so i am looking at new radio i am kooking at spectrum dx 18 plus the extra 8 channel add on.My question is what is difference from generation 1 and gen 2 that is worth 400 plus dollars

Just from a quick read looks like the gen 2 has all the telemetry stuff which is why it is more.

I just bought a second hand DX18 gen1. The firmware is upgradeable to the gen2. Heard only difference is the voice alerts.

I believe it's free to update after you register at spektrum site, haven't updated mine yet.
