I noticed Best buy is carrying some pretty neat RC construction 1/14 models made by a Canadian company called Litehawk. Rule of thumb you get what you pay for but they look like they could handle some light material.

Could be cool, if you wanted something functional for your younger ones to drive at a cheaper cost I suppose. Ohh, the dump truck even comes with 4 plastic rocks. ;-)

Sorry bud, better to keep your cash. I don't know about the truck but the loader I recognized in a heart beat. It's just a rebranded, cheap hobby engine toy. I thought the same thing a couple years ago when I first saw, bought one and quickly realized the POS it is. You have no control of the bucket. As you raise the boom the way the linkage is causes bucket to dump by the time you reach full boom up. Poor quality soft plastic.
In my opinion, not much to work with. I've still got mine, never touched dirt. Only plan for it is maybe keep the back end and install a roller on the front?

Supermario is right. I bought one and after testing it in the living room, put it back in the box. Right now the loader is on consignment at the local hobby store. Its a toy and nothing more...

The truck was originally an Arctic Hobby Landrider now listed as a Hobby Engine, on Ebay. It is 1/24 scale and is a toy-level RC unit. I have one that I upgraded with bearings and cheap hobby radio. It's a fun thing for the grandkids to drive around but not much else.

If I get one of these, I will modify it with metal and hydraulics plus a transmission. The thing I don't like about plastic RC construction vehicles for kids, Is that they use buttons to move the machine and they don't give much control over it. One example is a toy dumptruck I got. It didn't have buttons but only 2 levers, one for drive and one for dump, no steering which is annoying. So I plan to modify it or the front end loader that came with it.
