Is there a local club for Sacramento Valley area RCers who have a main interest in scale trucks/construction equipment/farm machines/fire engines and the like?

Do these clubs have meets where RCers come together to drive their trucks and tractors to do pretended construction work like loading dump trucks with sand or hobby gravel?

Watching YouTube videos, this seems to be dominant over in Europe.

I live in Folsom, CA. I have a new interest in this hobby and I am trying to network with local people of similar interest.

All I see around here are a bunch of these cheap-looking R/C non-scale helicopters like vendors exhibit in shopping malls. Even seeing true scale high quality model helis in action would be a treat.

I am strictly a SCALE buff.

At this time we're still building membership for the club. If you are interested in helping to advance member participation in your area please let me know.

At this time we are getting prepared for the annual RCX event in Costa Mesa, CA at the OC Fair & Event Center on March 12 & 13. For more info, please go to: www.rcx.com

Thank you, RCT

Hey Jon,
I know what you mean regarding the YouTube videos of Europe's construction site. I too dream of something like that here in California. I'm from Los Angeles and I just bought a 1/14 scale komatsu PC700 excavator. It should arrive in 6 months.
Sacramento is not too far but it weighs close to 90lbs.!
I'm also into that whole scale scene but the cost of the nicer machines from scaleart, fumotec, premacon, damitz is quite a bit not to mention shipping it from there to here plus customs.... it adds up. Which is why we don't have it here :( I hope one day that those companies open up in here in the states.
But for now RCT is the organization we need to support to get this going. I went to the RCX show and it was great seeing a few other that share the same interests.
