I see now rc4wd is now offering the Eagle 870k loader again. Is this an improved V.2 version? It costs slightly more than the V.1.5 they sold before.

funny i was here to ask the same question. I've heard about the axel troubles and was wondering if this has been worked out. All the videos i find on the 870k are over a year old. thanks in advance

I emailed the main guy,his name is Tang from Eagle machine and informed me that they have only been selling new versions for well over a year and they addressed the differential issues on previous versions. The RC4wd ones are the same as buying from Eagle except they do not have a sound module in them. This is what I was told from Tang.

Thank you for the info on the loader. From what ive seen and heard about it i'm in 100% good to know if you buy from eagle you get the sound kit aswell but that can always be added later on if bought from rc4wd. thanks again all good info

So the loader from rc4wd does not come with sound module but the same one from Eagle does come?
What's the price difference between them?

scottyk
01-05-2017, 03:42 PM
Keep in mind prices change alot, but at the time I was inquiring "Early November 2016" there was a 200 dollar price difference between the RC4WD and direct from Eagle. RC4WD was cheaper because they shipped without the sound module.

I was also informed it is not possible to get these loaders without a radio system. They come ready to run only. Just thought I would throw that in as well because that was my main concern.

I got one of the first version from Tang and had the diff issues , but easily fixed, the service was second to none , he also sent new upgraded diffs to me for free, and will one day get the dozer direct from eagle .
I have dealt with rc4wd in the past and wasn't overly impressed.

I would not hesitate to send Tang a email, he is very easy to converse with and always seems to reply within a day. He has answered all of my questions and I have not purchased anything from him, yet.

Did Andy repaint the yellow portion too?

i don't have first hand info regarding what's possible been done. Just think the yellow on that picture looks brighter than the 'yellow-brown' we are used to see on the pictures of the model. If it's repainted, or the photo/light conditions fools us, or the fabricator uses different color tones, I'm not the one to tell

cheers guys,
um no I didn't redo the yellow , its how it came but I did give it a polish with some cutting compound, painted the black with a cheap spray can and made up the decals.

Man, that is a beaut Clark. Can't go wrong dealing with Tang. When I had 4200 issues through rc4wd he couldn't help me direct, but let me know that he would do all he could if things went south with rc4wd. I ended up getting things resolved through rc4wd but will go through Tang here on out (JD-98 on the way.)

I wonder if this loader will ever come on sale like the excavators do.

Northern Farmer
01-14-2017, 11:42 PM
The only time I've seen them on sale was at 5% discount on Eagle's aliexpress store. Only reason the excavator version 2.0 is on sale is to liquidate the old stock since the new model is out.

not sure if this is the place for this question. but looking for payment info for the 870k. (thru tang) theres western union who gives no protection at all, then theres paypal with a 4.4% fee its a no brainer to protect 4k. But if you pay paypal thru your c/c then shouldn't they also back you up. Any owners please chime in.. just trying to see the most common way. Ive never sent money to china before. thanks Lenny

I am also dealing on a loader threw tang for mid to late March I was quoted for a price of with the sound module and paypal fees the total would be 3832.50 American which is about 82 bucks for the paypal fees. I know there's a few people here have bought from him with western union and have no issues.

I believe if you use Western Union at certain locations you can use your cc to send the money. Would this then be protected by your cc or as soon as WU gets the funds its just in their world? I used WU to pay Tang at my grocery store and had to use a pin debit card. This also meant I could only do payments of 2k or less so it had to be done in 2 payments in 48hrs as my debit card had a 2k a day max. No issues and have my product from Tang, though I was a bit nervous till that big box showed up even with tracking info.

Here is what I copied off of the Website for the 870 battery:
3S 6500mAh 11.1v 20c Lipo battery (Max size: 73mm X 80mm X 132mm)

You could use a battery with a little less mAh. Since you know the dimensions and that it is a 3S, check out this link for a battery:

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/batteries/lipoly-all-brands.html

They have tons of batteries with all of the dimensions listed.

For me no import fee here in N.Y just 3850 and 450 of that is shipping, and thats with sound and lights. Hardest choice was the excavator or the loader first. And now the dozer.

I got that new version and yes, it does not have the fan. Also, I think maybe the battery compartment is a different size now. It seems to allow more standard sized batteries.

I bought this one, and it fits very nicely (143x51x28mm) and is quite cheap:

ZIPPY Flightmax 5800mAh 3S1P 30C (http://amzn.to/2ox6WZD)

http://ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?_encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B00URCHVDU&Format=_SL160_&ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=tube00-20
(http://amzn.to/2ox6WZD)

It fits very snugly. I don't think the battery could be any bigger in any dimension. Especially the width. I don't think you could squeeze 29mm in there unless you moved some of the plastic straps.

I replaced the bullet connector with XT60, but you can also buy an adapter with wire or without:
- Adapter with wire (http://www.ebay.com/itm/121913431782)
- Adapter without wire (http://www.ebay.com/itm/111384312392)

Best regards,

Nothing else it gets you to know your machine. Running those lights will require some stuff taken apart and seeing the "guts" to it.

lenny

looks like cab removal, rear cover and exhaust platform. and sure of plenty others.would like to run it a few times before tearing it down for light install and inspect for any issues. Shipping only very minimal oil from the vent line leaked. so I'll top it off run it thru it paces and change. clear line from tank to pump shows golden oil so should get thru some testing before a flush, if and when the battery gets here.. pure torture.. I'm not so hot for the radio kinda looks a little toy-ish but main concern was that it got here in one piece and I'll take that..

Thanks Jack, and Lenny.
I removed the cab. Sure enough my speaker was damaged from over powering. It still works if I apply small amount of pressure with my finger on the speaker cone. So I looked around and there is not much choice for a 45mm speaker. I ended up getting this on ebay and I'll cut the ears off. I hope it fits. https://m.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-1-75-quot-inch-45MM-8ohm-8-7W-full-range-speaker-Loudspeaker-Bluetooth-Audio-/162820020260?txnId=1721787650006

Success story. I ended up getting the speaker off of ebay (link to speaker information in previous post.) I cut the ears off and it fit perfectly into the existing opening underneath the operators seat. I noticed the edge of the speaker was being pinched and restricted of free movement against the black plastic housing. I used a dremel and cut an angle at the 4 areas i have circled in red. This allowed the speaker's edge not to touch the black plastic housing. I believe that was part of the cause for the original speaker to fail. The other part was the original speaker being 4ohm and it should be at least 8ohm according to my sound card's manual at the voltage I'm running it as.
The new pair of speakers i received don't seem to have any strength of magnet.?? Whereas the original speaker's magnet was quite present. Not sure how speakers work but I thought all speakers need magnet?? Regardless, the sound quality is more or less the same as the original.
