Yes we are doing Lebanon again this year. This is just 30min from INDY just off of interstate 65

Annual Home And Garden Show
April 20, 21, and 22, 2017
Three (3) day event located at the Boone County 4-H fairgrounds.

If you need any more info just ask.

We are doing this instead of INDY due to the cost of the Indy show. I won't point any fingers or go into great detail but the promotor at the Indy show pushed us and called our bluff after admitting she needed us more than we needed her so we walked away. She is blaming us for posibly killing her show but I am fine with our decision and I will sleep just fine at night.

Welcome Fireman, your pretty much on it. And you'll get most of the info here. There are as you probably know many unassociated facebook pages that some are on. As far as joining, start a thread on what your building, show up at some of the meets and enjoy, that's about it.:D

is this inside? Real dirt?

tc1cat

Inside on carpet with the rubber.

Izzy
03-10-2017, 08:57 PM
Guys I think it was polished concrete not carpet.

frizzen
03-10-2017, 10:15 PM
Looks like last year had epoxy coated concrete or polished concrete with some astro-turf type carpet rolled out for the grass. Inside horticulture building, with lights and outlets.

Do we still need to bring our own tables and chairs?

Izzy
03-11-2017, 08:34 AM
Yes, sorry to confuse.

The building is concrete as noted. But T,L and others have bought indoor outdoor carpet. We still lay heavy tar paper down for roads.

We do not have run on the concrete. We can certainly drive on it. But clean up is a little slower.

The 'coal' piles and other activities all run on the carpet.

Chairs and tables were supplied last year but may be in short supply with the Home and Garden show going at the same time. It was first come, first supplied.

Any idea yet what show hours are going to be?

Izzy
03-23-2017, 05:40 PM
Last year we started around 8am and we booted out around midnight or so.
Cleanup is mid afternoon on last day generally.
Setup is day before the first day of the show, if we have access, usually late afternoon.

I have scored some hard board panels for roads. We will have to do so testing and figuring though. I'm hoping that we can forgo the tar paper.

If calcs are right I have enough for about 300' of roads.

Hopefully we can make it work so that it'll be reusable in stead of throwing the tar paper away all the time.

It would be great to be able to replace the tar paper.

What about a head count in regards to who's coming to LEBANON Show next week. I can tell you it's well worth it.

Oops, i owe somebody then. Sorry.

Next time would it be possible to do a side bypass road around the big belly-dump bridge? Car tires didn't do well on the mesh, and i saw some lowered stuff high center over it.

Where did you buy the ground rubber?

Sure that's no problem, you just need to show up and help set up and lay the road down where you want it.

Frizzen we could have done that, we had extra board thee and space behind the bridge. Didnt know it was an issue. The layout is always a work in progress. Like Kent said, those who are thee to setup decide the layout. But we do edit if it isn't working for us.

Big thank you to everyone who attended. Our turnout was decent. We still had space for others to come join in. But we made a good stride towards a building a relationship with the fairgrounds for our own show.

Thanks to the following guys who helped clean up
Cooper, Dennis, Nate, Berdt, Terry, Alex, Travis, and Izzy.

Thank you for a wonderful three days of fun.

Nate explained that at a previous event someone put them in the crumb rubber for others to find. He collected them and they ended up in his excavator. At least, that's how I remember it told to me. So, if I have it wrong, Nate can correct me.
