Has anyone found a matching paint for the standard "orange" color for this machine? Want to do some touch up.
Thought I'd ask before going to a paint shop for help.

Thanks!

I had my steel counter weight powder coated RAL 2003 and it matches pretty close to the stock color.

Thanks! I'll check into that. Also, are your CAT decals regular decals or vinyl? Local sign shop do those or other source?

Hey Ken I asked a local print shop to do them up for me. I saved a couple pictures on a usb key of the 1:1 excavator along with close ups of the graphics of the logos. I asked for them to be printed on regular decal print as I didn’t care for the glossy finish that vinyl has.

Thanks, Brandon. Mine will be a Komatsu excavator and I have digital files available. So just need to locate a shop and get it done.

I appreciate the help.

Not sure which Komatsu excavator you want to model your 4200 after but these might interest you if you haven’t seen them already.

Decals look good, but I'm changing scales. Doing a 1/14 PC400LC-7. Dimensions are almost dead-on for model vs 1:1, and I think the model's proportions reflect the beefier look of the PC400. Oh well, we can make it pretty much what we want. Decals and a few specific added details will help the illusion and I have to go with what I've worked on and taught for the last 30 years.

I found a company that sells the powdercoat you mentioned. They also offer aerosol, brush and touch up paint markers for all the RAL color codes. It is http://www.lowvolumepowder.com.
