Just thought I'd share some pictures of a Linkbelt 248 Crawler that we moved from Portland, Or. to Stockton, CA. this weekend. It was down in a hole that was too tight to get to with our 9 axle so we had to load it on our 5 axle and transload it in a shopping mall parking lot onto the correct trailer for its weight. We will continue on to Blythe, Ca with it next week where it will stay for some time. They are building a new prison there.

Equipment used - 1 9 axle lowboy for the house/carbody/butt, 1 5 axle lowboy to get it out of the hole. We loaded a light load of counter weights on it afterwards, 2 flatbeds for the tracks, and 4 step decks for the counter weights, boom and misc.

Mike, wind breakers and short sleeves aside, see that moisture on the ground??? That moisture falls from the sky from Oct. - July, and it gets really **** old, really **** quick. I have found it's a lot easier to stay warm than it is dry !!

Thank you! Actually it was Milwaukie, OR. but really close to the two. As for stating warm you're right its easier then trying to stay dry.

Again, thank you all for the compliments. I enjoy a crowd that thinks as highly about trucking and heavy equipment as I do. If anyone finds me post a piece of equipment that you're building or want to build don't hesitate to ask for more pictures. I have thousands and Its great to see the ability and passion that you guys put into your builds. I look forward to hearing from you.

Reeve, very neat pictures! I do have a question. It appears that the crane is able to disassemble and load itself, with no help from any other equipment, is that right? I've never seen anything like that before, hence my question.

Thank you...and yes, you are correct. It can be a lot more time consuming to do but they do use the cranes to disasemble themselves. Just so happens they had a 90 ton r/t onsite as a bare rental also so they used it to load out the boom and some of the counter weights.
