In an effort to increase realism I've been working my way around my truck eliminating the massive screw heads that aren't in keeping with the scale look, like the ones that mount the cab on the sides. However, I'm stuck on the screws for the frame rail cross members. Does anyone know where I could find some replacement screws with a hex head instead of the cross head of the originals? Would look a bit more realistic.
Thanks for any help!

Mc Master Carr has them. There is a place in Texas called Cole Power Models that has 2-56 thread bolts and nuts but you would have to fill the holes and redrill and tap for this. Ed

I see in one of FGD builds, an aluminium cross member. Maybe you should wait for this to come on the market:cool: I have two builds on hold waiting for some of the stuff out there.....

Thanks Ed, unfortunately I don't live anywhere near Texas but at least you've given me an idea of what to look for.

I'll give micro fasteners a look, thanks Spudd.

Juganought, My build will have decking on the rails so won't even see the cross members, don't think it would be worth it in my case. Part of my build is already on hold till I get some parts, I'm trying to get this project off the ground! I suppose patience is a virtue...

For future use if anyone is interested. I've used them on my Knight Hauler frame.

A little hard to see in this photo but I used 3mm Hex Bolts from RC4WD and left them in chrome. I think it looks really good.
