Rob, this is my favorite farm related build, ever! I remember the first time I saw it. I haven't seen anything else come along nearly as cool as this. Beautiful model.

Some serious work there. The engine looks so real, can we see some close up's of it? I love it.....

I agree with all, when I first saw this tractor I just couldn't believe it was a scratch build, definitely one of the nicest scratch builds of all time, and in any category! Fits very nicely with all of your machines, just some of the very best around, from one of the best builders around.

Thank you all for the truly great compliments!.
about the gator, yes it is completely scratched. I started with a set of 3-view drawings out of the brochure and some wheels and tires. I made a photo-pack consisting of about 300 hundred pictures of every possible angle and upclose shot i could think of from the real vehicle. two yrs later......wala.

I just returned from Indy. Another great turnout! I truly had a great time with the fellows and fellowettes! For those who had the keys to the gator, hope you enjoyed the the drivers set view!

Wow:eek:, I never looked closely at this one. I thought it was a modified diecast model.Sorry:o. Did you build it from brass mostly? Do you have more photos of the "work in progress"? That Coke can really appeals to me because I drink WAY TOO much of the stuff every day.

The frame is all brass. The cab and box are a combination of plywood, balsa and plexi-glass. the engine is from a die cast JD track-tractor. I cut the engine from the model and made the oil pan, turbo charger and other assemblies to resemble a complete engine. I put the electric motor inside the completed die cast. I will look see if i have any more building pics. Many times i build and forget to take pics, but i will check.

Rob I seem to remember saying something about this build before, but I can't find the post so I will say it again.

This is amazing, I love the detail both on the model and that you obviously paid attention to.

I can even see details that most would not think of and that you might not even know you made.

The fact that it is all hand made, and the appreciation in the workmanship, specially knowing how hard it is to solder with a flame.

My hat is off to you Sir, You are a Master Modeler, Bravo ;);)

It took me a couple looks to realize it wasn't a die cast as well! other then the size of the grass in that one pic one would think it was real!

rc-farmer-this has always been one of my favorite farm model builds. Not only did you do a great job building this but the unique style and shape of this model is something I have never seen before. BUT-yesterday morning I was pulling out of a place I sometimes eat breakfast and waiting for traffic to pass and one of these machines rolled by right in front of me!! I was amazed!! I had never seen one of these before and now there was one in the small town that I live in. It was followed by a bulk liquid hauler and I assumed it was going to spray a field for someone. I followed it down the road for about 1 mile and it was cruising along at 45-mph. If my van wasn't about out of gas I would have followed it and maybe watch it work but I couldn't. Just thought I would pass this story along-THIS MADE MY DAY!!!!
