Rob, this is really cool. What did you build the combine out of? It kind of looks like a Ertl, but I know Ertl never did any true 1/16 scale combines like this. Most were done a bit smaller.

Thanks Donny!

Nat, it's built from wood and is over 10 yrs old. It started out with just fwd/rev, then over the yrs the parts started to come together to look like this.

All the good-looking ones by ertl were in 1/32. They say it's not practical to build a true 1/16 combine, but they don't understand what we really want. This is number2 of 4 combines i built.

Stuff, those tires have many miles on them

Very nice Rob, I would have never thought it was made of wood either. Do you guys remember Ev Weber's Case IH 1660? it was awesome! He did some others too.

Thanks Steve, I learn from the best :D

Claus, yes, I remember Ev, i met him at the Stl toy show several yrs back. Was a very nace and talented guy to talk to. His talents are greatly missed.

I have been working with wood all my life.....i used aircraft grade plywood and sanded the dickens out that to get a really smooth finish.

Vert cool Rob! I was almost going to guess it was wood. I've seen your road grader build before. You are right. Patience with prepping the wood can make for some great results, once it's painted. Awesome!

As i have told you before Rob,great job on the combine, but it was the wrong color for our farm.Well things changed this fall and we got a new JD 9670 combine. Was a major change for us as we had been running IH and CaseIH combines for the past 40 years.Knock on wood the JD held up fairly well with only minor breakdowns, all electrical, imagine that....Keep up the nice work Randy.

Breaker, you're correct about RCCA, it was one of the RR's.

Thanks all for the compliments. I am working on another one for another member of the board.
