Some guys remove some material from the front axle. Like this -

Some guys re-do the steering links to improve the geometery a bit. Like this -

Some also remove some material from the knuckles, though it weakens the knuckle too. Just a couple ways to do things.

Not to try to hijack your thread Matthew, but just curious, what material is the front axle made out of, Al, pot metal, steel? Thanks in advance.

Hey Brian

You can get an alum one online:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ALLOY-FRONT-AXLE-TAMIYA-KING-KNIGHT-HAULER-R470-R620-/380264819140?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item58898ca9c4

But the standard one seems to be cast steel to me but i could be wrong.
