Hey guys I'm a newbie with rc trucks, and always wanted a KH since they came out, and my dad and I seen it at our local hobby shop. Well I finally got one. I bought it used, rtr(minus battery/charger&remote charger) with a Guyana attack-4 controller for a fantastic price of $300. I have quite a bit of experience with the real 1:1 trucks, my dad was an owner-operator for 36 years. I was also for 2 years. I'm also a certified diesel mechanic, so i truly appreciate the mechanical workings of these rc rigs. Well anyways here's my truck. She has pmd bull pipes, a custom drop visor I made up, pmd cb antenna, rc4wd hub replica axel nuts. Soon to have a custom contoured Texas bumper from Russisloud along with his front axel us style hub caps. I will be stretching her 3 inches with a set of rails that a friend donated to my "help a local rc semi newbie" fund lol, Thanks Jon (styling-n-profilin). Slowly but surely it will be turned into on of my dads old Pete 359exhd tractors, with all aluminum parts replacing the factory Chrome plastic.....sorry about the crappy cell phone pics.

So i wanted to wait for my custom boneyard bumper to show you guys but I couldn't resist. Here she is stretched, it still needs paint on the chassis, and s few things mounted up.

:cool:The truck looks good we all have to start some where. You can always change it and add parts as you go.:)

I started with this.

It turned into this.

And ended up like this it just takes time.

Hey guys thanks for the encourageing comments, Travis that's awesome to see the "then and now" progress of your build, that's a great thread idea. Limit it to two pics the "then" pic and the "now" pic.

Good deal on the KH! Congrats on your 1st truck! But I must warn you--these trucks are VERY addictive!! They're just like the 1:1's, when it come to adding and changing things. Well, needless to say--we'll be watching your progress and mods on this. Take care, Will :D

Nice job! Now you need some goodies from The Bone Yard! Russ will hook you up. Have you thought about a trailer yet? A nice dump from Freddy would be nice! Its gonna be a great truck for ya! :D

Yea I will be doing a matching spread axel reefer, just like yours. We always had matching stainless reefers with all our tractors, we always hauled produce. So I'm a reefer guy at heart Will. Hey Will is your trailer a customized tamiya reefer kit?

Cool Nick! All my trucks pull reefers too. :D. My reefer is a standard kit, with different frame rails and stainless sides and doors. A good stainless shop should be able to do it for about $60.00. I got Brushed stainless, because its different. Freddy Gear Drive has boxes at different prices. It'll look great with a reefer too! :D

Here the new Texas Contourd bumper and front hub caps compliments of Russ at The Boneyard.
I still have to remount the cab to level it out, center the front wheel, and align the front bumper with the grill.

Here's a few pics I took with my cell today. I added IHBuilder Steve's sweet wheels I bought from dairyland trucker Bob, I also added Steves air cleaners, and Steve's brand new steps for my king hauler turned kenworth. She's come quite a ways from the first pics I posted of the day I bought her.. http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc34/nickgirdwood/scale%20trucks/20130808_201229.jpg

That's a good looking truck! Is it a shelf queen, or is it going to see some sidewalk?:D

Truck looks great Nick ! I like how this has come along, do we have to wait 2 years for the next update? Lol.

Where did you get those tanks? I like the large size compared to the ones from PMD. Gives the truck a great look.

More pics please :):)

Thanks guys for the compliments, no she's not a shelf queen. And as soon as I get a chance and its nice outside and not raining I will take more pics of her outside in the sun pulling the 53'ft flatbed and tanker. And Mario the tanks are from Russ, with his mounts as well and I added the stainless steel tank straps. Next upgrade is a set of big stacks cause the bull pipes from PMD aren't big enough. And next I would also like a set of Steve's lugnut covers to add to his already awesome wheels. And some under cab and sleeper light panels.

Nice job! I like the amount of stretch you did on it, just enough to look like a everyday work truck and not just a show rig.
