This is driving me nuts. i figured i would ask before i go blind looking at this computer

First the Build in general terms i ordered the axles for 6x6. at 2.85:1 reduction
also ordered twin buhler 6000 rpm 12v motors with 3:1 mounting plate for 2 motors. I was planing on using tamiya 3 speed. unless you guys have a better idea? i was wondering if anyone put twin motors on anything else besides a tamiya 3 speed. tires are 112mm dia.

What the end result is i wanted a heavy hauler tractor. lot torque. good on grades, decent speed in staight a way.

now have been all over threads here and looooooooooked at a lot transfer cases. god have i looked. but afraid on pulling the trigger on one. i liked the carson 5:1 which mounts right on tamiya 3 speed? pricey too!

so what is a good whatever to go in between. or if iam way off base.we can be adventurous here too.

Freddy got me to using the axial crawler trans as a transfer case and it takes care of two problems at once. One it gives you a transfer case and two it has 3:1 gear reduction as well. Here are some pics of one attached to an RC4WD R2.

will the transfer case and the 3speed slow the truck down enough or would we need another reduction and i know it kinda depends on application ?

With a decent ESC and a good motor, low speed shouldn't be a problem.

If your planning on running dual motors, depending on your cab configuration you might be able to use a Emaxx trans tucked up in the back of the cab or sleeper. It has a plate for dual motors, it's stout, has front and rear outputs and is 2 speed.

While probably quite a bit more than what you guys spend for motors, you should check these out from Holmes Hobbies. The 5 slot armature should offer superior slow speed control and plenty of torque even in lower than norm turns.

Only problem with em is, you need to snatch one up while/when they're in stock!
