Thanks for looking in everybody...I still have undercarriage problems so I wll try to fix that as time permits..it is really fun to watch it move dirt though..

A losder would really be nice, but the price of a hydraulic pump really puts me off...I keep looking for something else that would do the job for less, but there isn't a whole lot of small pumps to choose from...Any ideas ?????

I have the assembly manual for the old kyosho hanomag loader.
It used screw drive for lift and dump.

Hey bambi, send me a pm with your email, I'll send it after the game tonight.

Hey Jerry, Have you considered building a cable lift loader? Lot's of antique examples to copy! Cheer's, Neil.

Hi Neil

I haven't had a lot of time lately to think about a new project..Are you thinking about something like the old Traxcavator mounted on a D4 ??

Hey Jerry, are you telepathic? LOL! Yes, that's one of them that came to mind.

Cheer's, Neil.

Nice pictures jerry-just curious, what kind of problems are you having with the undercarriage?

Hi Modelman

In answer to your question, the problem is in several areas..
When I joined the track links I used a 1/2 inch by 1 inch nylon spacer for the bushing and used a 1/2 inch aluminum pop rivet in from each side as a track pin..Over time the aluminum rivet eventually loosened and bent under pressure..I still need to replace all the above with 1/8" steel rod..

I made the idlers from RenShape ( a machinable material that is almost like cured Bondo)
I made the sprockets out of a rigid urethane resin and drilled out the sprocket pockets..They are not accurate as they should be ands need to be redone..
The track links are milled out of aluminum and are harder than the sprocket and idlers and have a tendacy to bite in and ride up on the idlers..The idlers should be out of metal..

I do have a couple of videos on utube of the D8 in action

here is one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2k68z-t73c
