I have one of these MAN's and they arnt a bad looking truck when it's all together. I thought about gun metal grey or black but i desided blue with mine as my road car, race car and alot of my rc cars are blue all I need to get hold of is two reefer trailers and it would all set. My next one might be a night hauler.

Your truck looks really good, 540-MAN, like the colour!!!!

If those Guards are off a Tanker Trailer, I got a set over here, your welcome to them if you want them!! ;)

540-MAN
06-16-2011, 10:47 AM
Thanks for the offer mate but i have the guards already on the A-trailer and it's starting to look sweet now. The next thing i'm looking at is making the A-trailer into a curtain sider. Think the guard the tank and box trailer are the same. I am looking for some other parts though mainly reefer trailers LOL :)

Now that makes me want one of these MANS they look better the more I see them but I have yet to see someone make a proper BB for it(not a shandard tomiya one that's been modified and slapped on sorry 540-MAN don't take it personal ) or a right hand dash, now that's a idea Tim making one for it I herd he was a expert BB maker that love a challenge..

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the pic's, gives me an idea what I'm looking at for a BB, didn't think of making the whole front panel into one, I was gonna cut the bottom part off and go from there, this helps a lot.

Thanks again,

I like where this is going Paul, especially with all of the aussie touches you are giving it like the front bumper/brushguard. Are you going to replicate the square fuel tanks as well?

Update on the Bull Bar for this beasty...

Tamiya BB arrived yesterday, so, I started modding it to suit the MAN,
After re-building the front bumper, I started on the uprights, What I have done here is cover the Tami uprights with 1mm Evergreen sheet, also inserted the Tami cross bars inside Evergreen tube and secured them in place with longer screws....

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh191/willsbrook/100_3361.jpg

Not looking too bad....

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh191/willsbrook/100_3367.jpg

Next was to cut the Bumper to fit the lights....

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh191/willsbrook/100_3368.jpg

Coming together now....

Hey Paul was just wondering material did you use for your aerials on the mirrors? I was thinking of using mig weld wire but you can't hardly see them on there.

Aussie
07-21-2011, 09:12 AM
Hey Ya!!

It's spring wire I got from my LHS, 18 inch length for around $3.00.

Have a look in the Aeroplane section of your LHS, I think it's used in Plane model making for operating the airelons on the wings.

The little black bit on the top of my Aerials is just the outer plastic sheath from some old servo wire.

Hope this helps.
