I worked a deal awhile ago with Reeve to build him a drop deck like a 1:1 he has . Now if you don;t know me by now , I like to make things as close to the real thing as possible   since my mill predates cad/cam I'm basically programing the long way (G code ) :( (at least for frames ) I had hopes to mill the frame rails with the suspension hangers , BUT with the jumping on the x it just not gona happen :( I was all set to run them but I can't get the end mills I need today  and editing this thing is a PITA but here it is on paper I hope to have some frames in the next week or 2  as the 1:1 life has me busy again :(

 I will be following this build:)

As for the jumping on the X axis, what are your steps set to, and what operating system is the mill using?

soon to get hit with a BFH  pre dates PC Centurion IV by milltronics no longer supported  there's more then that wrong with it . I think this POS is getting yanked out by next weekend hopefully when the newer 1 comes  and just figure how to do it with the smaller table  this deffinately needs a new control any one need a boat anchor !! Cheap!!!!!

LOL you mean a one time use boat anchor.

There are documented problems with this contoler atfter conversion to single phase. The inverter is not able to handle the change well, causes jumpping and HS travel when you try to use grid function.

Try swapping Z and X cards and see if the problem occures on the Z. This should help isoulate the problem.

Sometimes the floresent lighting also interfers with the siginal.

These are just some of the results found.

Personally I would put a xylotech drive on it. I am running this on my router with 406 inoz steepers at 1/8 steps with good results.

I can run it in jog with no problems It just starts to f up in hand wheel mod or running programs It can't even run a simple program out of the manual  all was going OK till after lunch I guess it wanted a lunch break to  It's coming out of the shop by this week end making room for the VMC and lathe I just had it with it my uncle said He sees this all the time people buy these 20+ year old machines thinking they got a deal . 10 K will get me a new control from mm and last anther 20 + but I don't have the time to refit right now and I want to get these things done for these ppl .

Amazing work as usual Steve ! It's your attention to detail and accuracy that makes your builds so amazing.
That's what I love about this forum, there are newbies like me building a trailer ( which I think is lookin not too bad ) and then there's the master builder creating a work of art from nothing but a block of aluminum ! Just goes to show, there's something for everyone on every level at this site!
Can't wait to see more.....BTW....how's the 990 coming?
