I have decided to build an "Old School" Truck to pull my Flatbed Trailer.

This is the look I'm going for...

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh191/willsbrook/ImageDisplay.jpg

I have made a start converting a KH Body,
First thing was to remove the Bonnet, and try get the right look on the sides...

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh191/willsbrook/100_3440.jpg

Next was to remove the top of the bonnet so I can "flatten" it...

Light Buckets will be removed as well and moved up a little to the right height level with the top of the guards...

I am gonna do the sleeper the same, Tim,

I have started on it now, I'm re-sizing the Photo and getting my measurements from that, seems to be looking just about right so far...

Coz the small access door on the 1:1 Photo is on the right hand side and it's on the left on the KH Sleeper, I had to cut the KH sleeper apart and change sides...

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh191/willsbrook/100_3447.jpg

I didn't end up using the KH roof, I made my own...

This is what I got so far...

Looking good Paul. I do have one question for you though... Looking at the pictures of the 1:1 why did you cut off the headlight buckets on the hood. They were almost perfect?

You're absolutely right, Mike,

When I compared it to the 1:1, the lights looked way too low, So I cut them off.
When I layed the styrene across the top of the guards, it worked out to be just about spot on....Measure twice Cut once.... My Bad :rolleyes:

Oh well, we live & learn

On with the build,

The Sleeper is slowly taking shape, Got the roof on now, A couple of pic's for ya...

Hi paul don't mean to hijack your thread but these pic's show the side of the triuck a little better,
Here's a better side view of the white (from itruck http://www.itruck.com.au/PhotoAlbum.php?PictureID=312&ExtendID=45&action=view&CatID=24)and the lights are slightly higher inline with the top of the fender with a taper on the front

No need to apologise, Tracy, I appreciate your input :D

These are the Pic's I'm working off, I am re-sizing them to get my measurements and as you say, the lights are just slightly higher than those of a KH, I think I got it about right now though...

Dam well near spot on Paul, I feel you needed to cut the lights out, had a look at “she who must but in” photos & the 3rd & 2nd last photos give a good look at the hight of light pods, the sleeper came up a treat as well.
I see this turning into a real good Aussie rig.
GOOD ONE MATE.
Tim
I second Tim's opinion! Well said.:D:D
