With all the trucks that have been "portrayed" on the big screen, I can't think of any RC trucks I've seen that replicate one.
For the last 4 or 5 years now my want for a semi has been a King Hauler to make the Porkchop Express from Big Trouble in Little China. With a custom sound module and some sound clips from the movie, would be fun.
Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when.......

So, has anyone here built a truck based on a 1:1 in TV/movies, or thought about doing one?

Convoy, BJ & Bear, and Duel trucks have all been done. oztruck had the best duel truck I'd seen. The japanese built mack was the convoy I've seen.

I'd like to do, or see somebody else do a few movie trucks. Over the Top's Auto-Car, and maybe the Volvo-White with the big sleeper on it. Then there are the Smokey and the Bandit trucks. GMC General, I think and a Kenworth W900.

I've got a ~reverse~ mention of a truck here...

Why? Its a model of a Semi used in a movie. Punisher (1989) w/ Dolph Lundgren. He uses it to deliver a bottle of booze to his source, 'Shake'.

As it came out in '89, I'd guess its a Wedico, NOT a Tamiya King Hauler (#56301 is dated July '93) Its got a load-bed, not a 5th wheel BUT it does have a Tamiya-style bull-bar.

Anyone wants a few pics, I can try to get a frame-cap off my movie.

I remember this movie, and the RC truck! Definitely a Wedico conventional, previous to the Peterbilt models. I was to young to have any expensive models like that, back then, but I sure thought it was neat to see a radio controlled semi truck of any kind.

for the pork chop express, look into beier sound modules, you can create your own sounds and upload to the sound unit

bigdogrod - Where did you get the Kenworth front grill? Have been looking for one, but seem not to be made anymore. Would be grateful for any help!

Thanks in advance
