Does any one know anything about the ServoNaut M220 and the ServoNaut MBA hydraulic pump controler and the ServoNaut SMT sound module

or will the ServoNaut SMT and ServoNaut MBA work with the ServoNaut M220

because I have a Stahl/leimbach hybrid loading shovel and am getting rather teed off with having to turn the hydraulic pump on and off and draining the battery if I dont turn the fifth channel off

What kind of radio are you using? Does it have atleast two mixes within its tx programming?

The "Master" is the valve & the "Slave" is the pump. And you need to have the pump on an esc too. Might work with a relay switch too, but the esc will have softer start/stops of the pump & you don't always need full power for every movement -> which will help conserve run time too.

I've done this with my adt & 850 hoe, works really well! I have a yt vid of the adt that shows how well it works.

Much less expense, as well as much less junk inside the model too. ;)

I am using a basic Planet T5 2.4 Gig radio with 5 channels, the pump is controlled from the fifth channel via a switch, the tracks are being driven via a Novak M2 Dig Dual Brush ESC that is set up to drive eack track independantly and uses the left stick forward and back for throttle and the right stick L/R for steering, i.e. the same set up as a Tamiya tank

is it possible to just use the servonaut BMA to run the pump and not bother with the SMT and M220 module

Lil Giants Thanks for you help I have got it sorted via another site and have decided to buy the servonaut BMA and not the SMT or M220 module becase the Novak duel esc runs fine

Yes, the BMA can be used alone.
Check the wiring diagram:

You can see that the connection between BMA and ESC is for communicating the sound (blue plug).

I have printed the manual and will ask one of the european guys at work if they can translate it for me

I decide to just buy the ServoNaut BMA module and run the laoder with the novak Dig dual esc
the BMA module arrived about 3pm and an hour later was fitted to the dozer and tested and it is fab, no more turning the fifth channel on and off

about half way I bring the TX into shot to show that the pump is being turnd off by the BMA module and not the fifth channel on the Planet TX, the Nine volt PP3 battery is for the lights fitted to the loaders cab, the rotating beacon is hard wired into the loaders main running batery to indicate that it is either switched on or off

I like how you lengthen the tracks, how much longer are they over stock? I bet it's much better balanced & improved traction too? Got a build thread somewhere showing your changes in detail?

I hate to disappoint you Lil Giants, but I did not build the tracked loader, so there is no build thread from me.

I bought it ready built from a guy called Jo Smith in the UK via the http://www.rc-trucking.com/ forum, he sold it to me with an esc to control the pump via the fifth channel and a small German dual esc to run the tracks, that I burnt out in five minutes.

As far as I know the machine is a Stahl model with the bucket from their wheeled loader, the pump and Hydraulics are Leimbach. other than that I do not know any more about it

over the last few months I have been experimenting with several dual esc's and eventually settled on a Novak M2 Dig Dual Brushed ESC and this last week the pump esc with the Servonaut BMA pump controller, which I have now set to turn the pump off in 1.5 seconds after the sticks have been centred, I even tried a Tamiya DMD unit to try and drive the tracks but it was too big also tried a sabre tooth dual esc but the steering in reverse was reversed so went with the Novak

as far as I know the tracks are the stock length and I have had to do a temporary repair to one of the because a couple of E clips have come out and I am waiting for new ones ( put some m3 bolts in as a temporary measure).

it would seem to be that way, but it has got better to run after installing the ServoNaut MBA pump module, with the leimbach pump and tank in the machine

Well darn the luck! I broke my golden rule to not ever sell anything & gave away my 966... :mad:

After it was gone, I was thinking I should have made a wheeled dozer from it... and then I would have had the loader arms & bucket for this conversion.

Your track loader looks similar to Scale Art's Cat with its long tracks. That's probably all I have to do to improve the perfromance of my ten yr old Stahl. ;)

I'll have to call the new owner my 966 to have him fab me a duplicate set of arms. ;)

I was thinking thru the summer about getting a Scale Art Cat 963, but now I think I will just improve the Stahl model I have. Thank you for the pics Brel. :)

To change SMX settings, follow this procedure:

- power off
- remove the jumper on SMX A-B-C (remember the correct setting)
- power on radio and SMX, and wait for a short "air pressure" sound

There are now 5 settings, each with 4 options. Use the "truck horn" switch of your radio to change options, and the "engine start" switch of your radio to move on to the next setting. You just have to listen to the SMX, it plays each sound option, the current setting and every change. You can change the options as often as you like.

Just play with it.

Settings and options are:

1. Volume of the "air pressure" sounds, 4 options - lowest volume means off, no sound at all (For example, wheel loaders don't have a air pressure brake, so you might want to turn this off)
2. Volume of the "back up" sound, 4 options - lowest volume means off, no sound at all
3. Type and volume of the "switch gear" sounds, 4 options (S20 don't support this. But M20+ does)
4. Volume of the "turbo charger" sound, 4 options - lowest volume means off, no sound at all
5. Truck horns, 4 options - choose the horn you like best

After step 5 choosing the horn, use the "engine start" switch again. The SMX will now play the german firefighter sound and save your settings. If you remove power before that, changes will not be saved. So when you are confused - switch power off and start again.

When everything is OK and saved, remove power and re-insert the jumper on A-B or B-C.

Guys can some one show me the correct wiring diagram for the reverse lights and brake lights to program the m220. I can only fluke getting either steering 100% or forward 100% one at a time. I need both not just one.
