Ok fella's i am on a mission I am tired of using high priced half links, I am out for ideas and the way you make your tracks and pads i would like to see as many versions of links chain types and machined links as possible so we can give and get new ideas to making track chains for bulldozers and excavators as possible ........I use # 50 and #60 half links and am thinking and trying to figure out another way to make realistic tracks post pics and a description please might make a new idea pop out for any of us:D

IDK where you get your offset links ( half links ) I got a price of $1.70 /1 60H from www.brancekrachy.com they're the best price I found . ok for the dozer but the excavator they're a little to high . So I may mill them for the excavator I'm going to build .

thanks Rob , those are for the light duty I'm using the #60H which is prob. overkill I'm going to give a cuople places a call for a bulk rate . even @ $1.70 is not bad considering the time spent to make them .

i am seriously thinking about making realistic rails / track chain but i am not real shure about the 1/16 scale or even the 1/10 scale i have 3 or 4 sized to choose from for measurements 9'' pitch 8'' pitch 7 1/2 inch pitch and 6 1/2 inch pitch is what i have to measure from but not real shure about makin them in small scales still ponderin those

Take a look at this post (http://www.rctruckandconstruction.com/showthread.php?t=1321) and scroll down the first page. It may give you some ideas. And PM me if you need the CAD drawings ;)

Hey Henry, if you decide to go this route, let me know, and I can get a price for water jet cutting.
Thank's Papy, another way to build track's!
Later, Neil.
