Hmm this looks interesting, now to me if your saying this will make your wife happy, it seems like someone has thought of an ingenious way to run one's rc rig indoors and vacuum the floors at the same time:D

Could it be an R/C fan-truck to keep the lady of the house cool on those hot, dry, summer days in.....yeah, didn't FGD recently move to AZ? My girlfriends lil bro is over in Scottsdale for a few months, from what I hear it gets pretty hot over there!!

Regardless, those Old Golds seem to get through these projects!

Brian,it better!
Scott,I thought you were a farmer type? & you don't pick the daily new rc parts orchard?? Dude! Your missin the boat! Every day people all over are setting a harvest of hard to get rc parts out by the road for you.
All's you gotta do is have the onions to beat the garbage men to the harvest!;) Now don't be Ascard,it's worth it!:D
So since I've started this build,it's been buggin me how in the world am I going to seal the hopper to truck. Guess I don't need to worry about that. This is with no seal at all!

That's awesome! Good to see you are still on a roll. I think the Steiger loader, with the power broom you made, needs an angle attachment, so it can brush the debris into a windrow, for this street sweeper to follow behind and collect.

WOW,Thanks Guys!
Joe,that's quit the complement,Thanks!
Scott,I wanted to make sure this idea was going to work before I started hangin the most complex part of the build on the truck. Plus I'm still on the hunt for the perfect brushes. The mechanical part is already figured out, just need the brushes so I can figure out where to mount it.
Espeefan, the broom on the backwards tractor is on an angle to the left.
Would of made it power angle, but didn't want to stuff the cab for it.
Well, the only thing left is the brooms & paint.Man this sucks! Now I've got to send this out to be painted,or set back up my booth. There's no way I can spray this thing in the garage this time of the year.
Well,here's the progress.

The vacuum unit is 14.4 volt,so this is what I came up with for turning it off & on.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn50/FreddyGearDrive/freddies%20newest/TruckPics1030.jpg
All this room,& the battery for the truck is gotta go in the cab.
Kinda was hope'in this wouldn't get into lookin like something nasa built.
But once again it's gettin tight.

Then the rear bumper & tail lights.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn50/FreddyGearDrive/freddies%20newest/TruckPics1058.jpg
The back needed something to break up the the big flat spot on the hopper.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn50/FreddyGearDrive/freddies%20newest/TruckPics1059.jpg
Then a panel to fill in the void on the top.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn50/FreddyGearDrive/freddies%20newest/TruckPics1060.jpg
Well this is as far as I can go till I find some brushes.
The other night I swept half the house with her,& she worked like a champ.
I've built a few trucks since in this hobby,& never had one that can maneuver like this little thing. This thing will turn 180 in a small hallway like nothin.
Will post progress as soon as my broom hunt is over.

Where did you get the vac from?

SWAGGER

Hey Freddie, for brushes, just an idea. Mini wire wheels (dremel style) or jewelry cleaning brushes. Some examples below, maybe you could work with something on here even if you had to bend the bristles down or something :
http://www.ottofrei.com/store/home.php?cat=1360

My advise would be to go with a natural bristle as opposed to a hard wire, so you don't scratch your floors and get a kick in the *** from the Mrs.

SWAGGER
11-26-2011, 06:10 PM
Another few examples:

http://www.tanisinc.com/cb_industrial.php#industry1

OR....for a homemade approach, you could make a styrene disc and cut the brush head off a small, round artists brush and glue that to the styrene disc. Then just trim the bristles down to size.

And for some inspiration, not that you need it, but some reference anyway:

SWAGGER
11-26-2011, 06:18 PM
Lastly, the brushes don't have to be horizontal. Sure you could have one horizontal on either side, or just one long vertical "spiral" brush across the bottom, or a combo of both, like this:

http://www.google.ie/url?source=imglanding&ct=img&q=http://www.toy2hand.com/shop/d/diecasttoybox/img-lib/spd_20090304123450_b.jpg&sa=X&ei=Q3TRTsP-BoW2hQfx-dmrDQ&ved=0CAwQ8wc&usg=AFQjCNHkvPKqtXxnx47Yq2Sy9CVUB5kpEQ

EDIT EDIT EDIT!!! HOLD THE PHONE!!! Look what I found. This just HAS to be useful.....
