Well my son has been on me for about a year to do this build but I made him get his act together at school and save some money first and he has so it is time own up on my end of the deal. Ill be helping him with the body and fab and all the building will be on him so here we go..

First we started with is Amax King Hauler and changing the bunk to a signal sleeper.

Now in Half
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/002-53.jpg
Tape for a straight line of what I am cutting out.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/003-56.jpg
Now cut the other piece out and fit it back together.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/004-57.jpg

And here is how it looks back with the truck. It is not glued on and it wont be I keep the sleeper free from the cab it is much easier to get at the goods his way when you need too.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/005-57.jpg
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/006-49.jpg

And here is a little mock up of the cab with its tire for looks
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/007-39.jpg

The truck will be on custom 25 inch frame rails running F350 axles front and rear with RC4wd straight ends on them with signal rc4wd 1.9 Mud pluggers on there hummer alum beadlock wheels. Tamiya big rig trans with a wheely king T-case and metal drive shafts and a Custom walking beam rear set up I had Russisloud build for the truck. It will also have one or 2 spare tires behind the sleeper and 2 winches behind the cab and one on the front bumper.

We are also taking 2 Bruder drop decks and making one 6 axle heavy duty trailer that will fit the truck and its height..

More to come..

Those look like stock Hummer rims, but what are the tires?

And the body looks like it could become a Zil 131, Ural 375D, or mebbe ditch it, go armored car, and make a BTR-152 like the beast that chased the SEALS in that bad movie " Navy Seals "

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BTR-152

Keep us up to date, ok?

Keep us up to date, ok? It is just going to be your plain old Pete army truck not going to change the body it all that is what the boy wants.

Here is the front end I set it up with GMADE drop perches for the f350 and Juggernaut leaf springs. The rear I am waiting on the coil springs and a also a F350 tranny the set up I was going to run hung to low so change of course with that.. Also working on a set of heavy duty drum winches for behind the sleeper.

Well my son has not worked on this much in awhile but lately he has been kicking it around and his gotten back after it so I have some update picks of his work..

Big hang up has been the tanks for him his plastic work is not where he would like it yet so he has scraped a couple of tries and went a different way and got great results..

He came up with this idea to make his tanks.. He took a 2x2 of framing lumber and then went over to the table top belt sander and made up some tanks..
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/theonlytamiyacowboy020/065.jpg (http://s58.photobucket.com/user/theonlytamiyacowboy/media/theonlytamiyacowboy020/065.jpg.html)

Then made some tanks straps out of alum on the sheer and formed them and brad nailed them on the back side
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/theonlytamiyacowboy020/069.jpg (http://s58.photobucket.com/user/theonlytamiyacowboy/media/theonlytamiyacowboy020/069.jpg.html)
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/theonlytamiyacowboy020/068.jpg (http://s58.photobucket.com/user/theonlytamiyacowboy/media/theonlytamiyacowboy020/068.jpg.html)

Then he took stock king hauler step brackets and mounted them and the steps..
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/theonlytamiyacowboy020/070.jpg (http://s58.photobucket.com/user/theonlytamiyacowboy/media/theonlytamiyacowboy020/070.jpg.html)
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/theonlytamiyacowboy020/071.jpg (http://s58.photobucket.com/user/theonlytamiyacowboy/media/theonlytamiyacowboy020/071.jpg.html)

And here is his end result.. Now onto the winch deck..

Father son projects, (OR my case uncle nephew, since I DON'T have, or want my own children) are the best kind. It's great when we can help the next generation entering the hobby.
