Has anyone used the telescoping tubing from Eagle Mouldings (link below) as a telescoping boom on a crane? How did it work? Any problems? Does it have to me manually extended or can it be extended with a motor or hydraulics?

I'd appreciate any feedback.
Thanks!
Doug

I bought telescoping tube from mcmaster-carr. had to build my own screw drive to move it but it fits great. Am using it for my tow truck build.

Customclod...can you give me some details of how you built the screw drive to move it? Do you have pics? How many sections of boom does it have?

Any information would be appreciated - just trying to get an idea in my mind of how to make it work.

Thanks!
