This build has always amazed me. Looks real! What type of paint are you using to simulate the chrome on the bumpers and other parts?

this is one that needs a before and after picture placed in a new category on this forum

one that has nothing but one before and after picture and a link to the build

Thanks Freddy, pump panel is still not done, few more details to add and I have allready replaced all the decals with new high resolution ones, like everything on this truck it was a lot of work as you can't buy any of these detail parts, everything os scratch built.

I have lots of pics of the ladder, I will start a thread on that once this one is finished and I get back to work on it, it was actually the first one I did, the pumper is now #4 so the details are getting better and there are a number of things I want to change on the ladder.

The paint is called Liquid chrome and I got it thru Eastwood, stupid expensive and very difficult to get good results.

That is a good idea, let the mods know.

Thanks for the compliments guys, seems time off = doing things for everyone else! The truck is sitting on the bench but been stupid busy with other jobs, good news is they are paying jobs so more money to pour into this when I can find time for me. Hopefully soon, still planning on trying to make the St.Louis meet in Nov would be nice to have this done and bring along.

Thanks, It is nearly complete now, lack of updates is due to computer problems, was planning on the reveal in St.Louis but was unable to go. As soon as I get the new computer figured out, I will post the updates.

Wow! That's some amazing detail. But let's talk about that 28 days off - nice. That'll give you time to build some things. Then again, I've never met a firefighter who didn't have another job.

Thanks, trying to get it as close to the 1:1 as possible, 28 days off was nice but that was all my holiday time for the year burned up in one foul shot and it came and went amazingly quick, did get lots done tho (and only one job for me, just a sucker for friends and family in need)

I've noticed that he hasn't been on in a couple of weeks but I'm hoping all is well. I would hate for such an amazing project as this to fall apart. Will be waiting for updates along with others.

Thanks but don't go throwing anything in the trash, I will try and get some pics of the near completed rig soon, just ripped my light lenses off and replacing with new uber scale ones, also busy as ever building parts for others (of which I have yet to see any build threads popping up!) Cheers.

This is one awesome build!! I love all of the detail you have put into this. I work on these things every day...both old and new apparatus and the detail on this is practically spot on! I may seek some of your advice down the road when I get to doing my projects....if that would be ok. Very nice!
