Here is a little progress on the 9020T tractor I am working on.

Belttension is designed with bearings in the 'forks' instead of placing them in the wheels.

The walking beam is now done. On the pictures you will see how I made the attachments to the frames.

The issue is that, by moving the two frames up and down from center/zero the distance is getting bigger and when the beam is attached, it forces the frames to move inward and therefore no longer parallel.

I came up with the idea, that if I let it 'rotate' over a square piece, it would spread the frames when the beam travels up and down. Also the beam will be able to travel backward (about 1.5mm) on the mid axle. As this distance also get's shorter.

Next up is the gearbox.

Kolp- Thanks for coming over to this new forum and sharing your builds. I saw this new build on modelltruck and it is a huge leap forward from your previous one.

Wow! I remember drooling over your other RC tractor designs, but you've really taken it to a whole new level with this latest post! Looks amazing! I expect this will be your best performing tractor to date.

Gonna be another amazing build. I wish I had the knowledge and resources to convert my CAT Challenger like that.

Anders, welcome a-board :D

Those tracks, are they the gel-type or the stiff vinyl type?

Thank you all.

Rob >> I have them both. The gel types seems way better than the hard plastics. But we will see how they act when they are mounted.

I also expect this to be one of the best tractors, but my 7920 is hard to beat. I do expect a lot of the Servonaut M220 track ESC that is goinginside the 9520T.

I'm looking forward for the 1st testrun!! :)

I don't know how the 1:1 is done but on my old Caterpillar tractors the equalizer bar or spring sits in a saddle and can float sideways but trapped under a pin to prevent the powertrain from going over.
Anyway,Very nice milling work. I like the way you made that ball setup.

So here is the latest activity from my workbench.

The undercarriage and transmission of the 9520T tractor is finally taking shape.
Trackframes has been done for a while, just some small touch ups here.

Transmission though is now nearly complete and fits perfectly inside the mainframe.

As you will see on the back, I have drilled the holes for all the bolts to fit either a 3pt hitch or a wide swing bar. I am not sure what to make yet. I better start with the swing bar as I want to get the rig pulling as soon as possible.

Wow, that's impressive! You do amazing work. Did you mill the bevel gears in the transmission or buy them. You can buy these type of gears at SDP-SI but they are not inexpensive and they charge a lot for shipping.

Vanisle >> The bevelgears is bought. I don't have the tools for that job. I could do regular spur gears though.

Thanks!!

Wow, I haven't checked this thread for ages, and I see you have made some great progress! The drivetrain and running gear is looking very well done. The detail is all there too! I really like the hex head bolts you've got in all the right place. How is progress on this model coming along? Any new updates? Incredible modeling!
