Guys, I've fitted Holmes motor to the highlift tranny. However, the pinion gear does not mesh with the large gear..
Tried alternatve holes in the motor with no joy...... Help:confused:

Sounds like you don't have enough adjustment to allow the gears to mesh. Maybe your pinion gear is to small? How many teeth does it have? On the other hand, you could lengthen the motor slots with a dremel or file and see if that helps. Or does the motor bolt pattern not match that of a 540 motor?

The motor sits right atop the tranny and wont go any further, so even if I dremel it, wont make a difference. The pinion is a ten teeth that came with the stock tranny. Has anyone had this problem before?
@ Nathan, Its a 540 can, and the holes appear to match that of the original.

Thomas,I have a few F-350 tranys running a 10 tooth pinion. You have to grind the mounting holes bigger to drop the motor closer to the trany. Also have to cut top cover so motor can sit down in side of trany.

On this one I used a brushless,But it can be done with brush motor.
Just don't grind with trany together, remove end plate to do your butchin.
Or just run stock pinion.
