Thought I'd share a stretch job we just started on a brand new 388 Peterbilt we just bought. We have trucks on order but there are not coming fast enough so we bought this truck off a lot in Sacramento and now we are stretching it from its original 230" wheel base to 286". Here we go!

What was the neccesity behind the strech? Or was it one of those "because we can" kind of jobs haha

I'd like to say because we can but primarily because we have to have room for loads that require front over hang...and cause we like to build stuff;)

Thanks for sharing this Donnie. I see you a real nice professional approach to this too, the workmanship looks first class. Like we would expect anything else!:D:D

Thanks Brian...I figure since I don't bring any scale builds to the table I could at least show off the 1:1s. ;)

Man I'm totally jealous Reeve, I wanna be building 1:1 instead of tamiyas LOL. I never did a stretch but my lil bro did. I changed a driver side broken frame rail on a Mack roll off that was wrecked and being put back together. Man what a nightmare, need like a million jack stands and cinderblocks to support all the Bs while we yanked the rail out. Nice job on your stretch man wish I could be there to lend a helping hand. Not often you get to chop up a new Pete.

I can understand the passion you have, my brothers and i share it as well growing up with my father being a very successful and locally respected owner operator of 35 years till he passed away. I attempted to make a go of the bussiness myself with his last remaining tractor, i lasted just about two years, n didnt do to well at all. This next time around I won't fail. My younger brother and I are looking at tractors now, and i already lined up steady work for most of the year. Hopefully aspiring to a similar level of success of my dad, but you have the ultimate set up out there it seems, good for you guys.

Thank you much. My hats off to you as well and I wish you both all the best. I often wonder how hard it would be to start from the ground up and believe me through the last couple 2-3 years there were a lot of times I thought that would be the case. My pops amazes me with what he has built along with our loyal and hard working team. Hard work and dedication is the key in my opinion. With these 2 tools any one who wants to will succeed.;)

Hi Reeve, looks like there´s a set of inner liner on side of truck, they looks pre drilled, isn´t hard to find those holes or are you drillning from inside?

Anyhow, nice truck and modification, always admire those CA long wheelbases.

The holes were not pre drilled. We set them in place, marked them and then used a mag drill to drill them on the horses you see in this picture. Thanks for the complement!

Thanks...we love building stuff and we love trucking. That is one reason this site is so great, everybody loves trucks. You don't get that very often anymore.
