Well i think its time to show my T-cab Scania. This truck was originally thought as just a simple dumptruck like this.

http://i52.tinypic.com/fy3moi.jpg

So i bought a T-cab kit.

http://i56.tinypic.com/2hd1vgw.jpg

It was a lot of work to get it to line up with the Tamiya bumper and cab. It was to narrow as yo can se here.

http://i54.tinypic.com/23j3af5.jpg

So i cut it in to three pieces.

http://i56.tinypic.com/np0v3n.jpg

And then put it together again.

http://i54.tinypic.com/nlsneq.jpg

http://i52.tinypic.com/ve7oeu.jpg

Next step is to fix the grill.

http://i55.tinypic.com/20a2el4.jpg

This is what i ended up with.

http://i51.tinypic.com/2meth7a.jpg

Sidesteps.

http://i52.tinypic.com/2ekpuzs.jpg

Primed.

http://i56.tinypic.com/258qgt5.jpg

http://i51.tinypic.com/jtqhs8.jpg

Then it took a turn to a heavy hauler and at this time i realised that a wanted a crane.

Craneparts.

Batterybox under the hood.

Crane starts to take shape.

INstead of using Tamiya suspension i bought this sweet thing from Germany.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i351/actros861/T620/P3213390.jpg

It's alittle bit smaller then Tamiya.

New chassi the old one looked like swiss cheese.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i351/actros861/T620/P4203552.jpg

Made this cover over the lover part of the crane.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i351/actros861/T620/P4143503.jpg

And now it's a dumptruck again.

How do you like the Veroma transmission? I have been considering one for my Wedico Pete.

Very nice build the cab came out sweet, the rear is nice too I'm liking the versatility of it. Plus the sweet arse suspension and crane. Looking forward to the next round of updates.

Do you have any info on the crane set, links to a website???

Oh its just great, small, quiet, easy to install and there are motoradapters for 4 or 5 diffrent motors. Buy one thats my advice. I even considered one for my CAT 966 loader.

Yes it is but what a pain it is to get everything work like i want it to
I guess we have to euro trucks, but to us trucks its very limited :(

Outstanding build, great job on the cab, crane and suspension.

Thanks :)

Some more pictures maybe ;)

This is the underside of the dumpbody. I but on aluminium frames instead of the plastic ones that came with it, its made out of styrene btw.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i351/actros861/T620/P8213925.jpg

Made a mount for the VBG-coupling. I made the drawbar to the trailer buy my self, its made in styrene as well. I'm gonna show the trailer here as well :)

I'm interested in the LRP Truck Puller motor, have you used it yet? Do you like it? Are you running 7.2V or 12V?

Actros861
10-03-2012, 10:04 PM
Yes i have used it, and it pulls my big *** excavator so i am happy with it :)
It's the 7,2V version i have in this one, next truck i'm gonna build i probably go for the 12V version. This truck is only ment for "light loads" so it's enough with the power for this truck :)

Thats looking good, I was just wondering how strong the styrene dump body is, and what you treated the styrene with?

Actros861
10-22-2012, 02:39 PM
No problem with the strength, it takes a full load of gravel without a problem :)
Haven't done anything with the body yet, just gonna paint it red on the inside and red/yellow combo on the outside. I will not spend so much time in the paint because I want to have a little run-down appearance of the body ;)

10-23-2012, 12:38 AM
ok, it looks very tidy, cant wait to see it all finished, where did you get the styrene from?

It's pretty nice, i think the bottom is 7mm thick and the sides 5mm.

Lysande laga Lowder, det ser en komplex bygga!

That sentence just didn't make sence, but i figured it out. Actually i have no idea how it was to build, i bought it assembled :)

Perfect Actros, that’s what I wanted to see, will the steering be activated by the 5th wheel? (turn table) be nice to have a how you do it when you build it.
Can you buy that suspension set-up or did you make it?
Do you believe the pivot point will be strong enough one each set of wheels? For driving it out side (in the dirt)
Some great photos there thanks.
Tim

The steering is servo operated, you can se it in picture number four. Now i don't thint you can buy it i don't even now who made it, the guy i bought it from said it is from Robbe but i can't be sure of that, there are now markings on the trailer :(

Well i have my 18kg/40lb dump truck om it and thats no problem at all. The connection between the lowbed and higer over the wheels on the other hand must be reinforced.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i351/actros861/Maskintrailern/P2104624_zps49ee0ce5.jpg

I have the trailer taken appart for now. Making som changes on it, a more powerfull servo, Servonaut IR-transmission for steering and lights and i'm gonna try to make the gooseneck detachable.

A picture with that big steel monster of a dump truck :D

I really enjoy the evolution of this truck, you have some great ideas and skills.

I do have a question about the crane though, does that bolt straight onto the frame rails of the trucks? I'm considering getting one for a project I'm thinking about.

There is a plate with the kit that pinch around the frame. There is a small problem with this and that is the crane doesn't mount over the supportlegs.

Wow, I missed this build back when it was current, but after finding it today, I have to say it's impressive! Lots going on with this truck and the chassis. I'm amazed you were able to fit everything in to make it functional. The cab turned out nice, and did I see that right? A reefer axle for your front steering?

Actros861
01-11-2014, 01:32 PM
Thanks :)

Yes there was a lot on the chassi, now it's in pieces again

Going for a simple dump truck instead. The crane is just too short to be really functional. I'm going to make it fit on the quick coupler on my loader instead :)

No not for front steering but tag axle steering. Front is driven, a rebuilt rear axle from "Doc Gear" in Germany.
