Thank you for the video :) It was great to have an opportunity to participate in the workday of a fellow member :D:D

A half-section per day you said :confused: Oh my, that's nearly 290-acres isn't? :eek::eek::eek:

A half section (320ac) was the size of the field I was in. This yr's extremely dry Fall weather and prime cutting conditions, with a trk driver helping me & dumping on the go through most of the day, we were averaging 250 to 280ac in Spring wheat, binning 11,000bu+ in a 14 hr period. 200ac+ in brown mustard, about 6000bu per day.. lower yield, bulky 'er crop but more double the value.

Thanx for your interest. :)

Thanks for the correction :cool: So a section is about 640-acres :eek: I always thought that a section was approx. 580-acres :D

Thanks for the ride Joe! Isn't 640ac 1 square mile?

You’re right Monighan :) After some investigation on my part I’ve learned that very fact :D :D :D

Square mile = 640acres.. essentially it does, however with today's grid road system: N/S a mile apart & E/W 2 miles apart, then it's 33 feet from road center to ditch edge; the cropland is within that perimeter.

I suppose some acres are to be gain in hilly ground vs flat..

640 acres -> 16,5 x 1/2 mile x 640 = 27 878 400sq ft

sq mile -> 5280 x 5280 = 27 878 400 sq ft

With today's GPS satelite technology, fields can be topographed to the 3rd decimal point (minus obstables), which is what some land owners are doing in cash rental agreements with their tenants.

I discovered this week that my 4G unlimited interenet is now limited.. I have unlimited access -> as in I can always connect, but there is a 10gig data cap usage per month, which in todays hi-def world = I'm screwed again with peddle internet in the rural!!! :mad: @ $75/month = BRUTAL! :mad:

I made some movies this week on the farm doing different jobs, but now I'm gonna have to take my laptop to town again to load them using some one else's isp cable. :rolleyes:

Here's a couple more showing the gadgets in the cab and a minor delay with a breakdown I had earlier in the week. I got another hopper full to do tomorrow, then a couple of sloughs of wht to clean up (1 or 2 hoppers), then I'm done for another yr. :(

And double :( :( cleaning the combine for storage.. can't make a movie of that b/c it'll just be a white fog!
