Neil, I got a couple of tired out Stahl hoes that I've thought about doing something like this and keep the rotation in it too.

komatsu has them on an excavator track frame where the whole uper rotates like the excavator . basically no backing up needed :D just drive to dump area , spin and dump , drive back, and repeat :)

I've been fiddling with details to make a Komatsu CD110. Have a couple of ideas for the tracks, which would be the most difficult. Thinking about using a double-sided timing belt or the VEX tracks. VEX are only 1-1/2" wide, so might work for the CD60R. Can get double-timing belts in 2" width.

Anyway, would be a very cool build.

Rubber tracks would certainly be alot better for ease of speedy movement. ;)

I was thinking of adding more length to the upper structure for greater capacity... my version wouldn't be prototypical of any make.

It'll be good to see what you do Sparky... what's been happening with your Payhauler 350 build, that we haven't seen any updates of in..... what a yr now? :D

That was a great video Neil, thanx for posting it. :)

Have you this one before? I think it was AFV that is making those track modules, saw on them on some site in recent weeks.

I've just been tinkering with how to build the crawler dump - not in immediate future.

Lil Giants: THE PH350 build is going very slowly. Two grandsons born this summer plus really busy travelling for work. Front springs done & mounted, cab needs some small details, fuel tanks mounted and transmission shift servo in place. Hope to make progress and add pics during holidays.

Neil , I figured it out (I think :o) those are cut monster truck tires with a reinforcing belt glued on the inside . I have a pair that would work .

Here's the ones from RC4WD. Not bad for the price. they also have a good size footprint.
