Hi guys, I'm looking for some advice. I've seen some of you slide the steering axle forward on your King Haulers and K100 converted Globe Liners. Question is how are you guys doing this? What's all involved, and how hard is it to do?

It is easy just loosen the U bolts slide the axle forward to the desired position and tighten the U bolts down.

Weren't some of you guys tilting the front spring shackle or something as well? Didn't that lower the front end a little bit?

Thanks Travis. I thought for some reason the Tamiya axle had locating dimple in it, that matched the rivet in the spring pack, or am I wrong? You guys are just relying on the u-bolts to clamp it down then, and not the rivet? Not that it's a big deal. I thought I also heard of guys using a shim from the High Lift kit to level the axle back down. To much caster otherwise? Think they offically call the shim a pinion kick up plate, or caster plate.

On all of my Pete builds I re wound the front eye of the spring with a pair of needle nose pliers. I got this tip from Jammer and it works very well. I also rotate the front shackle up in the front. This allows for a slight drop in ride height too.

Chris and Brian, thanks for the added input! I appreciate it. Thinking about building a Tamiya, just for kicks. Thought I'd do a little research.

Tim, that looks a really nice solution, and it's nice that the axle stays level. I think I could handle making a new front suspension hanger, just like that. Thanks for sharing your idea. I am sure I've seen it mentioned in your very detailed build thread, but I may have forgotten about it! As you Aussies might say, looks like it works a treat!

Thanks Tim. I appreciate the information, and you taking the time to share your techniques with me. I know you have a lot more experience then I do with building these Tamiyas into some really nice, realistic trucks. I still have a lot to learn.
