Just awesome Steve. I'm an aspiring hobby machinist with a little 7x10 lathe and Taig CNC mill - haven't logged many hours on either but spending more time lately as I come up with reasons to fabricate. Your work is an inspiration for me to keep at it. Thanks for sharing and keep it coming. Joe

Dan , yes , 1 of the reasons for going to cnc equipment . I have a jig right now but all the drilling is starting to take its toll on the jig . I'm wanting to do a variety of sizes , patterns and hole shapes . And I wont be limited to just wheels :D

Ok now bare with me, we all know I'm slow, what nuts are you all talking about.:confused::confused: If I gather this right. Are the hubs in the above pictures the axle nuts?

Next thing. and please don't kill me for this, this is just my OCD that we all know I have showing it's ugly head again.. so here goes. Why do you have a driven axle hub on a non-driven axle.?:confused::confused:

Steve, that could be something you could come up with, make a trailer hub/nut that looks like an inboard hub oil cap.

Troy that cattle wagon looks great and it also fits behind that Texas flag beautifully. this thing is going to look awesome when you get it done and all polished out. Ya going to put lots of light on it:D:D

Mine are on there just for show right now.
I am going to use them on a truck I am building.
The trailer hubs Steve makes are perfect.
If you put six small bolt heads around the cap,and paint the center red it
looks real good:D

Oh boy, now that's the Sh@# Steve..:cool::cool:

Cool, that just makes me feel better knowing I can get the right look.. Now all I need to do is build a trailer..

So no one answered my question though. are those hubs that Troy has on his trailer threaded and act as the nut to hold on the tires?

And Steve is that how yours work as well. I know your rims are bolted to the hub like the real things are, so what holds the hub on the spindle?

Troy, yes they would look perfect but those bolts that hold those hub caps on are 1/2" I don't think you can find a nut that small let alone a bolt or screw. But what would work is one of the rivets that we use on the cabs. I think they are the 1.2mm ones. maybe just a little smaller. then just drill a small hole and glue the rivet in.

As for the filler cap, just get Steve to make the cap inside the window when he cuts the window out. Not sure if that can be done but rather than machine the whole area out like the ones in the picture just leave the little cap, maybe say 2mm round right in the center. I have not a clue if this is doable or what it would take to do it, just a thought.

They look great just like they are Steve, don't get me wrong. Just my need for perfection, or as it's called in the RR model hobby... I suffer from being a "rivet counter"..:(:(.. Makes life a Bi@#h some times.
