i posted this on another site this morning but same info.

ok im want to start on my next truck. i'm going to do a mack granite 4x4 utility truck. i got alot of reference points , i work across from the city of tampa truck depot. but im having problems. i need a front and rear axle . i can't find either. joe's truck shop tends to have them but not now ? and everyone else has the custom front axle or the rear housing. i need the stock stuff to start. any ideas?

anyway something like this but a mack

It's not bad! Remove the rear part of the fender, and drop the cab down lower, either by cutting the floor out of it and making a new way to mount the cab, or else cut/notch the frame rails below the cab, to allow it to sit lower on the chassis. You could also raise the spring hangers and shackles. Maybe a combination of these things will give you what you are after.

i moved the shackles up a bit and it made a big differance in the look and stance. i'm big on the look and stance of my trucks, and cars . i'll get some pic later tonight

She's still sitting a little high on the horse, but looking better! Lob off those gray mudflaps, hanging off the back of the cab fenders, and drop it down onto the chassis rails. Looks like it could easily go down another .25".

ya i want to get the real wheels on it to see how it looks, i kind of want a off-road truck look but not over done height its a work truck. i also need to put some shocks and gear box in it that should dropp it a little just in weight.

The first pic of the green truck shows how high these trucks sit but if you look at the lowest first step on the cab, it's pretty much level with the center of the wheel hub. You may still want to bring the cab down a little? Love the side dump:cool:

well almost done. need the rx and servos from hobby parts.

i got to hook up the disconnect. i put a very then washer in the disconnect to keep it from locking the front wheels, that way when it works it will only free wheel the frount wheels so its a 2wd- 4wd transmisson. i also got to go to the hobby shop to night i need a bec to run one of my servos and a much larger pinion gear this guy is dog slow. with the gear they give you

the truck is done! mostly..... i took it out yesterday, on i found that the side dumps setup i made kind of.... sucked lol the servo was stronger then the hinge and ripped it of the truck.
the servo is from a 1/4 scale car . that's the box on the side. any ideas to make it look less like a giant servo? input need thanx guys!

o... also has anyone every use the buder little pup trailers? the trailer is the last part to this build. but i don't know if i should make the trailer a utility trailer flatbed or dump?
