Well as soon as I can find my camera i will put up pics but i scored a sweet deal on an older M4 Sherman tank the old 2 channel (does not have Full Option). The tracks are put together and I am getting ready to start on the suspension for the road wheels.

Merritt,
Tanks can be as much fun or more than the trucks. Detailing one of these beasts can take longer than it does for one of the trucks. Enjoy!!

You really do not know what you are missing with only a 2 channel Sherman! The full function tanks are out of this world compared to the older plain tanks from Tamiya. Does your Sherman have the older clutch drive line or does it have a DMD in it? MIght be able to help you along with things! Let me know??

Lynn,

This one has the DMD unit, I also have a second lower hull and most of the lower drive line minus the tracks. I know one is going to be a full option Sherman when finished and one will be a M7 Priest. Not sure which one is going to be which.

By the time you buy all of the needed full option parts, you might as well buy a full option kit. Learned this the hard way!!

Well I got the complete kit for 250.00 and the Second hull and all the running gear minus the tracks for 50.00 so so far I am ahead I am just waiting on bearings. The only thing I changed from the full fit is I swapped suspension arms for the newer style with bearings versus the old style with the posts.

Looking good, Merritt. The metal tracks may look better than the newer plastic ones but the plastic ones have much better traction. Actually, the metal ones just set and spin most of the time especially on carpet.

Did you know, there's a new one out in 1/16 made by Mato. It's a M4A1 76 and costs around $160.00.

Not real close to Tamiya as far as quality but it is a Sherman and can be upgraded. ;)
