Very cool!
I also looked at your Toyota truck with the VW diesel. Very well done!
I have a 06 Tacoma, and sometimes ponder getting a diesel powertrain from overseas, then reality quicks in that its not feasible at the moment.

Thanks guys, The vid of the thrower was the first time outside and after fiddling with everything and getting the traction problem figured out it was way late and cold. But yes cant wait to get it back out there again. It did get me thinking of building another unit for a 1/14 scale truck for the driveway.
Acadieman, thanks for checking out the other vids. The conversion was worth it. although when i started it there were maybe 2 other guys putting this motor in a yota so there was alot of guess work. Turned out pretty good but this motor is really underpowered for road use. Im sure a modern TD for your Taco would be really sweet.

Great video, JD! I've always wanted to try some garden model railroading, all year around too, but since I already model in HO scale, I think I'll hold off. To many expensive hobbies already! Your rotary snow plow works great. It sure can throw the snow with a vengeance! Those NS locos are nice as well. I'm guessing they are getting their power from the rails? A little extra ballast never hurt, eh?

I enjoyed the build video as well. I never thought about coverting a caboose to a rotary snow plow, but it's a great idea! How did you balance the blower? I'm guessing you were throttling the RPM of the blower, in your videos, with an ESC?

Thanks Man, I hear ya on the expensive hobbies part. :) Yes the Locos run on track power. I figured out real fast i needed more traction hense the lead blocks on the locos. Those are the only two locos i have that are currently DCS controlled (remote operated). Hopefully next year i may have a few more converted for some extra muscle.
I balanced the blade by machining a pin to fit the mounting hole and then pressed the smallest, freest spinning bearings i could fine onto the pin and made a bearing block to clamp in the vise. Then kept rotating the blade and watched the heavy side always stopped downward then added tack welds to the lights side till it always stopped in different locations. It really worked out well cause when i originally fired it before balancing...it was scary.

Yes i got a cheap stick radio to control the rotary so it wouldnt be running full bore all the time. Using a 55 turn RC4WD motor, 2:1 gear reducer and ESC.

Very cool, JD. I was also watching some of your other videos. Machine gun shoot, your diesel Toyota crawler (very cool), even the Halloween video. That one cracked me up! That body hanging from what looked like an engine hoist was freakishly realistic! :D How did you do that?

Haha, Thanks pal, The hangman? Heres a better video of it in the daylight...if you didnt see this one. We go nuts around halloween time. Checkout the Barrel Guy too from our last years setup.

I built the Hangman's skeleton from pvc pipe, then used a windshield wiper motor for the action. its controlled with a key fob. The control board inside the hangman saves sound files and is triggered when he kicks. I love that thing. Thanks for checking out my page. I strive on uploading interesting videos only to my Youtube page...lol

Oz, love your plow/flanger. Ive been thinking of building a flanger car with servo operated blades..but im currently over my head in ten other projects. haha. I checked your other pics too. The saddletank loco is sweet. I hope i can have an outdoor setup like yours some day. Need a bigger yard. Ive got a pretty big wooden crate full of track for whenever that day comes.
heres where my locos reside till then.

You might be a model railroader if you own more locomotives then you do rolling stock!
