Hey guys my name is josh. I'm new here, i am 22 i work as a heavy equipment mechanic and have a pretty well set up machine shop at home but need some smaller equipment. i have been into model r/c since i was knee high to a grasshopper. anyways i have some questions about some excavators. What's the best hoe for your money? Which has the most attachments? Better quality one. And..... Where to find the darn things lol ve looked at vario, wedico and the damitz O&K RH 6.6. And if you guys like any others what might they be? thanks josh!

Vario is the best bang for the buck, not overly detailed, but you can add that yourself if you wish to have it.

Another prominent company that has a fine hoe is Premacon http://www.premacon.com/

And soon Fumotec will have a 490 Komatsu on the market (he's the designer of the Vario model), which is only 20% smaller in stature than the Vario.

That komatsu hoe would be awesome!!! I actually work for KAC komatsu America corp. you say it's going to be 20% smaller than the vario Deere-hitachi??? Will it still have an excellent operating pressure?? And any knowledge of the damitz O&Krh 6.6??? I really like that its hydro drive minus the starvation of work equipment when both circuits are open.. I feel like from what I've read the 4200xl from rc 4wd is cheaply made if you will.

The Komatsu model's day view is in about a month's time at the Bauma constr equip show in Munich, Germany... then all details will be revealed.

isnt there a multi year wait list for the damitz? any updates if they have their act together yet? their hydro drives are weak (no power) though. rcse has a fix for that or so they claim

Think I'm gunna have to wait for the komatsu! Just hoping its not much smaller than vario's current Deere-hitachi😔😔

Oh WILD...

I noted that EC-M used the Goldhofer trailer in their 'transport' shots, and thought " Sweet, glad to know I bought a quality trailer that the ~builders~ use. "

Then I noted the extensions they had to the sides of the trailer... and thought " Wonder if they made those them just to display their gear.
"
Then I checked the 'Preisliste' and saw that they have them available. But they are not cheap - 143 Swiss francs (CHF), thats about 152 USD currently. Wonder if I wrote to them for more pics of the item, the one pic they have is the extensions on the trailer, with a load, no separate high-detail ones.

Anyone thought of making a set for their Goldie? Or buying a set from these guys?

Sorry, dun mean to 'jack a thread...

I like the Premacon Leibherr 944B but it's not cheap.

Which brings me to some questions.... The vario! I like it a lot! How is the crawling? Under powered? Attachments? How about a functional thumb kit on the market for it??

Rue,

I am sure you have looked at this thread, http://rctruckandconstruction.com/showthread.php?t=6241&page=4, Chris has put together a quote for aluminum track assemblies which look really good.
I am currently working on a steel alternative and will post as soon as I know the feasibility and economics for what you would be getting. I am doing this for my equipment projects and "if" it is economically feasible, I will go through the proper channels here to offer them to others. To see sample profiles go to the end of my thread, http://www.rctruckandconstruction.com/showthread.php?t=6016, and you will see what I have been working on in aluminum.

I didn't use their esc's, you'll have to ask them.

There's room to add one more hyd valve in the rack they provide with the kit.

The Komatsu, the protype isn't even finsihed yet, you could probably put your name on the list to get one though.

They have no idea what you are talking about nor themselves. You can pretty much ignore anything anybody from vario ever says

Talk to this guy, his name is Frank. He is the builder designer of the Vario produced track hoe & owner/operator of Fumotec (where the Komatsu 490 hoe will be coming from).

I was the first person to Get one of the Damitz excavators shipped to north america ..I got fairly lucky when I ordered mine and only waited a few months ..Thinking someone ahead of me cancelled there order ..Around 7K about 4 years ago ..Damitz doesnt consider these models there bread and butter but a little extra on the side so they dont devote alot of time to this part of their industry...I had ordered some extra parts from them shortly after i bought the machine and never did hear back from them..I am wondering how they will be if and when I really do need some parts
Im guessing i have about 200 hours on it now with not major breakdowns ..few things getting loose but in my oppinion a well built model ..It does have downfalls with the speed of the travel motors beening so slow ..It is great having every function hydraulic but the swing and travel motors are really not scale ..So far those have been working well..
Overall im pretty happy with the machine but would consider a Fumotech machine now if I was to buy another..If they were available then I would of went with Them as well
