had this sitting around w/the parts for my welder to weld alum . So I decided to start putting it together . A local manufacture builds these and to watch them make them is  . They're mostly used to haul scrap . this will be painted as you wouldn't haul scrap in an alum. tlr

The ole-b/t is lookin good! Man! You can toss some big hunks of concrete in that baby & not worry about denting the sides.
Looks good so far!

Cool. You should definitely leave the tub raw, so it rusts. I've seen some trailers like this, just beat to crap - dents, bulges, scratches, the company name barely visible on the outside, and then a really sharp owner operator tractor pulling it, spit shined. :D Quite a contrast, but still pretty neat anyway.

He said it was built out of aluminum, be kind of hard to get it to rust.

paint it rusty then!! i see the same thing when im driving during the day, a beat to **** rubble or scrap trailer from stuff being slammed in it and a awesome tracter! looks prehistoric or something especially when you turn corners and the trailer screetches. make it look like someone took a bite out of the mudflap! at least the one i see all the time looks like that. does look very good so far

the aluminium ones just oxidize real bad and look like they are rusted
and they have rust marks all over them from the iron scratching them up
at least down here in wet Florida they do

Cool build for a trailer Steve. I've loaded many of those bathtubs when i used to work in a scrapyard years ago. They took one helluva beating with rail scrap, and trucks and wheels from old rail cars.

I love the tub trailers, when nothing was available in 1/50 scale I built this one by cutting up three First Gear dump boxes and stealing the hoist cylinder out on an old Conrad model. Sorry not trying to hi-jack.

Pretty cool custom trailer, Craig. I like it.

Nate , I have a 1 man operation yes , It's a cat MTL . I do not consider it a skid steer , since they operate totally different . You run them like any other crawler , not like a skid steer . And yes a dream but can become a nightmare :( when no work for it :(

That trailer is dead on the guy I pull for owns 2 of those JMH trailers and from what I can see you nailed it. that scissor dump trailer for those of you who have never seen one before is impressive to see. The trialer brake needs to be applied and the tractor brake off and as the trailer goes up it pulls the tractor backward into the trailer. Awsome job.
