self lifting dump gate?

ok i had this idea thinking all day how it would work but nope it didn't so im asking with the parts in the pic what would be a easy way to make the gate on my trailer lift when the bed tilts when dumping a load?

any help would be great.

The plate which anchors the tailgate to your pivot point, if the plate extended beyond the pivot point you could then install the rod from there and anchor the other end to the frame rail. You may have to experiment with location of anchor point on the frame. Vertical may work but having it more forward will have quicker reaction time.

Nice work so far by the way, looks good. :cool: Is the tarp powered? Susan wants a powered tarp for her trailer someday and I'm looking for options and ideas.

hey thanks for the info i check out those trucks and made some mods to the trailer. the mods worked thanks again.

the tarp isn't powerd, i was going to but then i was like na. to much trouble.

Hey Cos ,Supermario is right about the piece extended beyond the pivot point , I have the bruder Joskin dumptrailer ,same setup ,I ran a 1/4'' steel rod between the rear wheels ,through the frame ,for the bottom rod to attach to ,mine works great ,very nice dumptrailer by the way ,good luck with it.
