Hey guys, was wondering if anyone could suggest some sources for mudflap material. I don't much fancy the white ones that come with the king and the tanker trailer, would like to make some plain black ones. Also need to make the little short ones for the front fenders on my 379.
Any pointers greatly appreciated!

I use rubber roofing it comes in different thickness. I am lucky and have a good friend that works for his brother that owns a large roofing company so I went and ask him for some and he cut me off a 4ft x 4ft piece the same thickness as the tamiya flaps at no charge. So I would suggest stopping by a local roofing company with a tamiya flap and ask them if they have any scraps that thick and tell them what it is for and I would bet they will be more than happy to get you a piece.

Hi Nick,

I went down to a local truck tyre service centre and told them I needed a old inner tube for my RC truck to make mud flaps and they had a dig around and gave me one for free.

Cheers Cossett

You can get the same thickness black rubber sheet from McMaster-Carr if you can't get any from a local source.

Ah yes, McMaster Carr - so many things to buy there and I have. I bought some neprene rubber (can't recall the thickness but is was available in various thicknesses) off ebay years ago for making scale mudflaps.

Thanks guys, plenty of ideas there. I may just try getting hold of an old inner tube.
Thanks for all your suggestions!
