I guess they're having some of the auction in another building next door. First time for that. I guess since there's two auctions this time.
Best Western =About 1 mile further. What rate did Holiday charge? I'm in at BW for $76 per night.

I talked to the coordinator yesterday again to make sure of a space for a pit for us and he was on it. Today, while I was emailing another member here I got a phone call from Gary the man in charge there asking me what kind of dirt I wanted again for my digging pit. We talked about how big of a space we needed and he has his old boat pond that isn't used there anymore because he has a bigger one now. He said the old pond could be made as large as 30'X60' and leave one side open for access. What I need to know who is going to attend and what they're bringing. Maybe you East Coast guys will want to bring some road trucks and buildings. I don't have anything like that so I'm more geared to the digging part of it.

SmallHaul

I'll be bringing: wheeled skid loader, rubber tracked loader, 2 tonka dt's, mack dump, dragline & dozer.:)

12-07-2010, 03:52 PM
As a on-road guy, if I don't have have to work at the 15th I'll bring my 2 wreckers, my rigid and a king with van trailer. I know the 16th I'm free so If any of the East Coasters are thinking of going let me know

Steve if you get your dump stuck the tow company charges $250.00 for a Medium hook and for the heavy hauler its $450.00 payable before the truck is set back down on its sneakers.

Anybody that exhibits on Saturday is usually invited to a small party that evening with food and drink sponsored by the venders. Last year it was at the show in the lobby but two and three years ago we were at a industrial museum in York.

I don't think that would be a problem. If the "old boat pond"(dirt containment) is set up like I mentioned before, it can be as large as 30'x60' but we need to see how the first run works to know how much room we'll need in the future. I hope this could get as large as some of the European shows. This avenue is not covered at this show and will go nicely with the "real boat pond" group and the live steam railroaders.
Besides if we could get some dozers, graders and scrapers there we could build you a road:D

Well, I am looking forward to this weekend. I am heading over on Friday to help set up the dirt and check out the auction. I'll probably build a climbing road to the top of the dirt pile where Steve's 9W will sit and then on Saturday we can build a road back down the other side using the rc equipment.:) Should be a blast.

Okay...had to go see what this was all about. About a 2 hour drive for me from Delaware. Very cool show...definitely going back next year. I saw Steve (9W) there but didn't get around to introducing myself - had my 6 year old in tow so hands full. Seems like the scale construction stuff would fit right in at this show and was kind of surprised I didn't see any there. Definite opportunity for the guys I see here to show off their stuff and play in the dirt!

Got home safe and sound. Glad to meet Jammer Ed in person and see Scott again. I'm working on getting some video uploaded. Like some we always forget to get lots of pictures. I got a few but they're mostly of my machine. We had our troubles too like Ed. My hoist motor has something wrong with it and we had to install a smaller bucket. The regular one worked great until what I think was we demagnetized the motor some or cooked a winding setting up my current limit on the hoist DC drive.

Not sure yet Tom.

I had a guy come up to me while running my machine and tell me the digging attraction alone was worth his admission.:eek::eek::eek:
I was talking to Gary, the man in charge and he told me this was a record year of over 5000 people attending possibly more because they know how many buttons they give to people and he ran out!
Now next year, he wants the live steam train people to build a bridge over the boat pond so the boats can have something to navigate around and also I told him about the East Coast guys who use a bridge for their trucks. He wants more trucks and equipment next year because of all the rave reviews he got from people. He is also going to supply more dirt so we can have more room to move around on.
