Ok
Maybe you will think I am a little bit crazy, but I love this old Firetruck.
Its a Mercedes Benz 409 with a 2.2 Litre 90 HP Gas Engine.
It has 9 Seats and a Front Pump which makes 800 Litre at 8 Bar per Minute.
The Truck is 33 Years old and has 29000 Kilometers on the Clock.
My Son loves it too.

I bought the Truck from our local Fire Departement for just 250 Euro and have to spend another 1000 to restaurate this Baby.

Very nice firetruck! It is fully operational? Good purchase for such a classic piece of equipment. Is there a club or group near you that has interest in old fire trucks? Looks like something we would use in a parade or a celebration to honor firefighters. Have you built an RC model of it? Would be very unique.

Hi Ken
Yes its fully operatinal, including Hoses and a 4 Piece Ladder on the Roof.
I am a Volunteer Firefighter here in Germany and yes we will use it for Events and Parades.
And not to forget for the Kids.
We have a small Group of Kids here at School and we want to build a 1:10 Model of this Truck.
Based on a Homebrew Chassis with Tamiya Components.

Thanks
Most of the 33 years it stood at a warm dry plaze.
There is a couple of Rust now but not too much.
The Frema is completely Rust free and the Machine is running like a sawing Maschine.
Only the Exhaust has some Holes and must be made new.

Hi Micheal

Great looking Firetruck, Glad to hear it's found a new Home, i'm sure you will do a excellent job restoring it. can't wait to see updates on the restoration.

best advice is to make a garage for it. if you cannot make a garage try a car port or something that does not allow sunlight on it all the time. it makes a mighty difference!

I paid for 1:16 of the same bus 95 EUR and I paid 70 more for reconstruct and conversation of cable to radio control. Now you have 1:1 and I have 1:16 :)

Fire trucks are always cool. Especially nice ones like that. I recon the neighbors don't mind having a little extra protection nearby either, huh? Dan
