I am new to the whole RC world. I started out buying a few pre-built kits and found to be very unhappy with the quality. So I figured if I want it to build it.

So here is what I have came up with so far

42" 1/2 x 3/4 frame rails with 1/2 x 1/2 cross members
5 RC4WD Yota II axles
RC4WD 2 speed trans
RC4WD 3 speed transfer case
King hauler day cab

How could you be breaking drive shafts? Must be something binding. Looks great though. What did you use for your winch?

Breaking driveshafts just driving around? No load? What kind (brand) of driveshaft and where are they breaking?

so the C channel you used, just from home depot/lowes? looks like a semi crossmemeber must have fit in there? I got a set of TLT axles and Im thinking of making a 8x8 or 10x10 AWD

I used the c-channel I think its called OSB edge cap. All the cross members are solid 1/2x1/2 bar and drilled and tapped with 5/16 bolts. The only pre made cross is the carrier bearing.

I would love to build a compressor shack to haul around
