I just spoke with the producer of the Richard Crane Truck Show.

This event is hosted in St. Ignace Michigan, September 12, 13, 14 2014. This is a big truck show that is in it's 19th year and growing every year. The producer was very interested in having us come to the show. I would like to know how many people would be interested in joining us for this show?

I already have some people interested in participating, but I would like to get a rough idea to give the producer an idea on how much room we would need.

Here is a link to the show (the truck show is at the bottom of the page);http://www.nostalgia-prod.com/#top

Thanks.

I have getting some interest in putting the event together. With the information I have received so far, we will have some iron running. Which sparked another phone call to the producer, he said he can put us on pavement next to dirt. So now we will have access to dirt for the machines and conveyors. This should be a great option for all.

I plan to go up in June to meet with the producer and check
out the area. I have links below that show attractions around area. There are numerous family friendly things to do and the area is a very popular vacation spot in Michigan.

Hey lee the show sounds like a really good idea,I got a few machines to bring and we could maybe do it Michigan style HEAVVVY and give the show a purpose and just have some serious fun.

No one seems to be responding about the show anyways we will have a good time.

Sounds good, we should have quite a bit a iron at the the show. I'm coming up with some ideas for the show. With having dirt we have a lot more options we can do. I will have a better idea of what we have to work with in June once I look at the space.

We now have an official sponsor for the show. KC hobbies and raceway will be heading up the local logistics for the show. We will be setup at the entrance with the access to the parking lot and a partial road blocked off. They will truck in dirt, sand, or gravel for us to use on the asphalt.

We will be setup next to KC hobbies and race and have access to his shop for charging batteries, storing equipment over night, and to work on vehicles. They are also going to lend us tables, chairs, and tents if needed.

We have several options we can do. The town will be setup with the standard platforms (gravel pit, freight distribution center, truck stop, and parking), with the addition of jobs to perform.
We could plan a mini event for each day at a certain time, for example a backing contest, a timed team event, and maybe a skills event.

Sounds good Randy, we are going to have some fun with the show!

I have some more details of the layout planned out.

Gravel Pit;
This will be layed out with a borrow pit that will have an excavator loading off road trucks that will dump near the processing plant. There will be atleast one loader at the processing plant that will take care of the plant and load trucks. The gravel pit will have dirt, sand and small gravel for the jobs that will be done. I would like to have a couple people run the gravel pit, keeping the processing plant running and loading the trucks.

Jobs;

An Overpass under construction. The overpass will look like concrete that was poured and we will fill the ramp in and dump dirt for the outside slopes of the overpass.

Installing a water main along side the road. There will be an excavator and loader at this job with half of the road blocked off for the construction lane. The excavator will load trucks as it's digging the trench. We will lay the water main and then have the trucks haul in sand and gravel to backfill the trench.

The construction site. Here we will have a partial constructed building and job site trailer here. We will have what looks like freshly poured curbs in the parking lot that will need to be backfilled for the green belts. We can install a birm next to the road and haul gravel in for the base of the parking lot. I would like to have a dozer that can grade the parking lot and overpass.
