Hey guys, I'm building a heavy Haul truck. I want to go with a brushless setup as I was told it is smoother. What are you guys using? Are you using the standard gearbox? Running something along the lines of a crawler motor? And gearbox? Just want some ideas of what others are using. I'm not in need of a fast truck, as it will mostly be run on driveway, stone and dirt road.

I'm still using brushed motors and stock gearboxes in all of my trucks.. The Motors are mostly HPI 55/65 turn units, with a few customs ones thrown in..

There may be some information on brushless motors in this thread that may help.. http://www.rctruckandconstruction.com/showthread.php?t=8778

Cheers

If you want a smooth and almost silent setup, you should go for this one to replace the stock motor/ gearbox combo: http://www.servonaut.de/shop/product_info.php?info=p115_servonaut-gm32u450.html
You can get it with a few different ratios and a version for all wheel drive. Add the Servonaut M20+ ESC, and you will get the best driving experience.

ya you would need a low kv crawler motor.

i have a 5200kv in my F350 dually and I cant even accell half way in 3rd without spinning the rear end around and doing donuts...
