hi all.
just to let you know the axles on the rc4wd loader are a very weak part and poor fitting of the bearings with break the axles. mine has lasted 5hrs in total and that's with very little digging. the bearings collapse and takes the diff gear out. I am wanting mine to be sent back and repaired. will see.
you have very little come back with a bank wire so be very careful.
don't think I can trust this model anymore so going to part with it after the axles are repaired.
I know I will loose a ton of money but very disappointed with the model and lost interest with it now.

five hours is not a longtime to kill berings. will rc4wd replace the bad parts??

hope they will after I send them pictures, but I want to send the full model back, the axles are not done right and the bearings are loose so will just break again. my model is number 8 and I now know of three other loaders that have all gone the same way. thinking of just splitting the model and taking what I can get for the parts. lost faith in this model and would not advise anyone to buy one until they have redone the axles.
all the best

Hi all
Having big problem with the rc4wd 870k shovel.
rear diff bearings have broke. (2 much play in the castings)
only 6hrs running on the model now and the original oil leaks seem to have come back.
there seems to be a problem with the axles on other forums.
so I have come to the decision to get the model sold and move on.
not at all happy with this model and I think there will be a lot more models being sold when the owners axles break.
the model had bad oil leaks from day one and they have returned
the model will need a full rebuild to check every part out and new rear diffs fitted.
the model is in the uk.
it will be going on ebay in the next week or so.
sorry about my rant but so disappointed with this model.

hi there.
yes been in touch and they are waiting on the manufactures to get back in touch.
I think I just got a lemon. Its been a problem since day 1 and now I have just lost all faith in the model.
yes I know I will loose out but its time to move on.
Ive only had it running 6hrs now and its been in bits three times trying to sort problems out, I wanted to send it back the very first time and now its leaking oil out again and I'm still waiting to replace the diffs.
someone will get a model that they may be able to get to run very well but I think they will need to fully rebuild it and check every part twice.
no this time I have made my mind up for it to go and go it will.
all the best

Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in, but from what I have seen a bearing shim is needed in that axel. Around the circumference of the bearing. If I'm not mistaken the housing is machined just a tad too large for the bearing.

P.s. I hope your listing on eBay will be descriptive in problem with axels and other issues. I know someone that may be interested if the price is right, will tell them to look for it in a week or so.

Hi there.
yes if it goes on ebay I will list all faults.
got it running again after a lot of work and still do not trust the machine.
no word on my new diffs or a upgrade, maybe they need a few more to break before rc4wd demand anything is done. there is 4 out there now with the same problems that I know of and mine is only number 8.

Hi all.
yep been in touch with rc4wd. just sent a picture in a email and then no more emails.
don't think they are bothered that a model they sell in sitting in bits on a bench broken after 6hrs. they have the money and are thousands of miles away.
they may think I will just go away.
not going to happen.
if it does not get repaired or sold it will go to every show and be shown on every forum, facebook and twitter in bits.
good advertising

hi all.
well 13 days now and still no news on spare parts for the diffs.
rc4wd have stopped replying to my emails now so think long and hard before you part with $3600 of your money.

hi all.
14 days now and RC4WD will still no reply to emails.http://http://i1314.photobucket.com/albums/t570/elvis65/2014-10-19131428_zpsac95dc51.jpg (http://s1314.photobucket.com/user/elvis65/media/2014-10-19131428_zpsac95dc51.jpg.html)
$3600 and you can not use them.
think hard before you buy from them.

If you bought your 870k with a credit card, I would check with them, to discuss what your options are. A lot of cards automatically provide a one year guarantee for most purchases.

hi there.
no rc4wd will only take a bank trans for the expensive models. no credit card, no paypal.
you live and learn. they will not answer emails, reply on forums, nothing so I'm stuck with it sitting on my bench with no axles in the model.
poor very poor.

Hi Dave as much as I see neat stuff on their site I'm very Leary of buying from companies that don't give phone numbers and/or addresses on the site . For me an email contact is not enough . Like I also don't open email I don't know . I might be cutting the supply of sources but rather be safe than watch my hard earned cash being taken by unscrupulous dealers . All the best of luck Mike

Hi Dave,

You Might be better of contacting eagle machinery,

http://www.eaglemach.net/index.php

A andyathome in Australia, bought one it was missing the front fenders, he contacted eagle, with in a week he had the parts, latter on he had same problems with the rear diff,

here what he posted on a different forum about the rear diff problem,

heard a clicking noise in rear diff so I pulled it apart again( after checking it when I first got it).

not good! input shaft bearing completely toast. also found wear in the casting for the diff lock lever , like the casting wasn't big enough to take the complete movement of the arm.
had a bit of a think and also noticed in the casting of the axial tubes there looked like a bearing on the axial was missing?
contacted manufacture , (cant complain about their service) a new gear drive input shaft and axial was posted ,I fitted two tamyia bearings into axial housing , put about two mm of shims in to main diff gear bearing housing .
put it all back together again and perfect.

Ive probably put 25 plus batteries thru the loader so maybe its just natural wear , not too sure on that.
will pull apart in another 10 batteries and check them again.

Regards Cameron.

Hi all.
well got a reply to my emails today and rc4wd say they have sent me a diff out. (I do need two but one is better than none). why did they not answer emails until I emailed 4 rc mags, put two posts up with pictures on facebook and put it on a good few forums.
yes I am happy they are sending me the parts, but not happy at their service.
all the best

I've had nothing but poor service from them during my now 10 years of being their customer. I'm very picky with what I buy from them now. Sorry you've had poor service as well. I know it's really frustrating.

Do you think there's a fix possible to prevent this from happening again?

hi all.
yes a easy fix would be to get a bigger bearing or a shim kit to take the play out of the fitting, I have added very thin alloy strip to my front diff and seems ok, will do the same to the rear when I get the diff of rc4wd.
I think the only reason they replyed to my email in the end was getting the pictures of it sitting without the back axle on there face book page and asking why they would not answer emails from me.
had a couple of emails back from the rc mags I wrote too and they were getting intouch with rc4wd on my behalf.
so hopefully we will get this sorted and back running.

Hi all.
I have the 4200xl digger and I love the machine, only had a couple of minor problems with it and just a little looking after and they are great diggers.
make sure you get the 1.5 version with the 4 valve block.
had mine going on 2 years now and runs great, bought mine from a dealer in the uk that deals with rc4wd.

the $450.00 shipping is the big problemAnd don't forget taxes...

I'm very happy and impressed with my 4200 so far. When I first chose to buy it, I based the cost on 450 shipping. Then I found out shipping is 600 to Canada and then with the exchange rate at the time shipping cost me 730 bucks!
Hard pill to swallow but I'm so happy now, it's all forgotten.:D

yep shipping that much sucks. i got a deal once on a carbon hood for my mazda
and i was cool until i saw 600$ for shipping, so i just bought one from u.s. and paid like 100$ instead.

hi all.
well new parts came today from eagle so model is now a runner again.
got hold of a spare set of axles and a extra set of tyres when I placed the order.
cost a bit but they did put in a couple of extra diffs for me so have a few spares now.
good on eagle.
now looking forward to get some digging done.:D

I was considering getting the loader this Christmas but for cold feet after I read the axle problems on this model, anyone know if it has been upgraded yet?
